C653 .7jI'0p5QCy 'Twas one rainy day last fall When I took out my crystal ball, And as I looked, what did I see? The Seniors' fate revealed to me. As the clouds cleared from the screen, The wild blue yonder was the scene. LAMAR PETE DAVIS-I see him yet- As with FRED' TODD he flies a jet. Flying also is the fate Of both CHARLES CASH and JIMMY PATE. Traveling with them, day by day, Is airline hostess, EMMA KAYE. Yet these four don't know where to fly, And neither do they know how high, Without the charts to steer them straighter By JAMES E. WINGO, navigator. The planes they fly are good and strong, Nothing ever does go wrong. They take all kinds of wind and weather, For who do you think put them together? JIMMY HAROLD STOCKARD and BOBBY LEE OWENS Make aircraft parts at a shop in Des Moines. I find MINNIE PEARL down in Memphis at work, At Lowenstein's store with a job as a clerk. Also in Memphis are BARBARA and JOANN. They're taking dictation as fast as they Can. They are secretaries, they rake in the dough, They'd be making more, but their typing's too slow. They wish they'd listened when, long years before, Mrs. Bass said they needed to study some more. BILLY ROMINE has moved away, To New York Cify, he's gone to stay. He's been promoted fast of course, He's captain on the police force. For The New York Times PHILLIP CHILDRESS reports. He writes about baseball and all other sports. He's writing a column on page twenty-nine, Draws a big salary, is doing just fine. On Broadway, JOYCE CARY and LINDA MILES, Designers of the latest styles, Own quite an exclusive shoppe. If short of money, then please don't stop. Our class is scattered all around, Some in country, some in town. JANET, TREVA and BOBBY JOAN Are office clerks, I should have known. They put the letters in the file And answer phone calls all the while. Treva's in Jackson, Joan in Spokane, While Janet is working in Portland, Maine. DAVID JOHNSTONE'S met success Announcing news for CBS. JANICE HARRISON MOODY has moved out west, Helena, Montana's their new address. Two of the class are with highway patrol, And they're among the best, I'm told. The two are NATHAN and FREDDY LEE. They patrol the roads in Tennessee. KENELIA THETFORD has been to college For five years now and gained the knowledge In home economics to land the position Of Mayo Brother's chief dietitian. JOHN has succeeded, I'll tell you why, He's a G-Man for the F.B.I. JAMES ARRINGTON wins our congratulations, He represents us in the United Nations. In Hollywood I find these two: WILMA ANN and GLENDA SUE. Hard to believe, yet 'tis a fact That these two girls have learned to act. I see LINDA LANNOM at work in a bank, I hear scores of people have her to thank For instructions and the sound advice, Before you invest, you better think twice. GENE CAMPBELL is drawing pictures still, -But then I guess he always will. Commercial artist for the Chicago Tribune, To the wiles of women, he's still immune. The GREENUPS, LINDA and.I.UCILLE Both' are working in Nashville. Linda's cashier for Cain 8: Sloan, Lucille keeps busy with her home. SHELBY MCCARTNEY has made a nurse. With all her patients she ranks the first. JANES teaches piano at U.T.M.B. She has her Doctor of Music degree. Telephone operator, CAROLYN SUE Puts long distance phone calls through. And who do I see but CAROLYN JEAN Pounding away at an adding machine. For she keeps all the records straight For her husband, the best engineer in the state. Nikita Krushchev's knees are shaking, The Soviet regime is quaking. DON FOREN 'S plans to conquer the world Have set all Europe in a whirl. Yet not all have strayed, a few stayed home 'Round Bradford, Idlewild, even Skullbone. To give an example of those who remain, The stockyard is run by our friend, LARRY WAYNE He has lots of hogs, he has cattle galore, But always he's bargaining, trading for more. The farmers are few, I must confess just JERRY ARNOLD and CAVANESS. They farm the scientific way Year after year they make it pay. Now DAVID HOPPER has begun, Both he and JOE D. RICHARDSON, To gain lots of knowledge and plenty of skill To fix any part of an automobile. PATSY' HAMPTON is quite a success, She's coaching the girls for ol' B.H.S. The Elementary School is fine For all the students walk the line. The first grade teacher is BETTY LOU, She makes them mind, I'm telling you. The English teacher is PATRICIA CASH, She's checking every dot and dash. And misspelled words that may occur In all the tests turned in to her. Now, whatever my future, the ball didn't show it, But one thing is certain: I u'on't be a poet, 5 0
