Achieve proficiency in mathematics Mathematics Department and Minnie Davison. Mr. Downing teaches solid geometry and trigonometry in terms of sines, tangents, and secants to seniors. Juniors attempted linear and quadratic equations as part of algebra II with instruction by Mr. Downing and by Mrs. Davison until she was forced to leave because of a fall shortly before Christmas. Prepare students Always valuable, Typing I and II are taught by Mrs. Baltzer, Mrs. Shea, and Miss Baver. Students in Mrs. Baltzer's class employ their pen and memory to learn the abbreviated language of short- hand. Opportunities to become acquainted with the newest business machines are available for students under Mrs. Blessings direction. Bookkeeping, under Miss Raverls instruc- tion, and Typing and Transcription in Mrs. Sheals classes give students required ex- perience. Business Mathematics and Law, and Consumer Education, taught by Mr. Smith and Mr. Brace, respectively, round out the Business Education Course of Studv. for business fields Mrs. Baltzer passes more paper to Dolores Powell who is practicing typing a business letter.
