Achieve proficiency in mathematics Mathematics Department and Minnie Davison. Mr. Downing teaches solid geometry and trigonometry in terms of sines, tangents, and secants to seniors. Juniors attempted linear and quadratic equations as part of algebra II with instruction by Mr. Downing and by Mrs. Davison until she was forced to leave because of a fall shortly before Christmas. Mr. Smith guides them in their study. American history and problems of democracy are the content of jun- ior history taught hy Miss Titus and Mr. Tompkins. Seniors study Ameri- can history of the period after the Civil XVz1r. They work on prolilenis of democracy and il unit on city planning. Miss Currie and Mrs. Fuhn- stroin instruct the sen- iors. All seniors look for- ward to Mrs. WVilson,s informal Modern Living class in which they dis- cuss social problems, as well as dating and mar- riagc.

Prepare students Always valuable, Typing I and II are taught by Mrs. Baltzer, Mrs. Shea, and Miss Baver. Students in Mrs. Baltzer's class employ their pen and memory to learn the abbreviated language of short- hand. Opportunities to become acquainted with the newest business machines are available for students under Mrs. Blessings direction. Bookkeeping, under Miss Raverls instruc- tion, and Typing and Transcription in Mrs. Sheals classes give students required ex- perience. Business Mathematics and Law, and Consumer Education, taught by Mr. Smith and Mr. Brace, respectively, round out the Business Education Course of Studv. for business fields Mrs. Baltzer passes more paper to Dolores Powell who is practicing typing a business letter.
