Office hands cooperate in duties Oflice secretaries Ioyce Herbert, Vivian Pollock, and Beverly Holliday seem to carry on in spite of the many interruptions. Main office atmosphere is normal when the mimeographing machine is in operation, the telephone is ringing, and several students and faculty members are requesting atten- tion at the counter. Dale Roggenbaum, senior, assists Joyce Herbert in the attendance of- fice. Calling the homes of all ab- sentees to determine the cause of non- attendance constitutes a major pro- gram for the staff. The student assist- ant who is appointed for a Week's work, one class period daily, also helps compile and deliver list of ab- sentees to all classroom instructors.

Uur leaders, counselors, advisers All students have an opportunity to meet Mr. Raymond Getz, B.S., M.Ed., dean of boys, and Miss Ruth Stewart, A.B., A.M., dean of girls. First among the varied duties of these faculty mem- bers are the recording of daily attend- ance and the counseling of students in the advisable choice of courses of study and careers. A graduate of Temple University and of the University of Pittsburgh with the degrees of B.S., M.Ed., our principal Mr. George Bell has Won the admiration of the student body by his ever-ready smile and by his patience in dealing with youthful problems.

B., den- tal hygienist, and Mrs. Pauline Engel, clerk, make regular examinations of the students, teeth. Parents are in- formed if dental Work is necessary for their sons and daughters. Dr. H. D. Simmons, With Miss Caroline F. Reitz, B. S., and Mrs. Mary Edmonds, school nurses, com- plete the medical department of the city public schools. Daily visits are scheduled to the various schools for students, biennial physicals. 22
