The student body at B. H. S. was fortunate enough to have the orchestra play for several assemblies this year. Every day during sixth period, students and faculty could hear the melodic strains of the orchestra members as they practiced in the audi- torium. Mr. Duhart conducted his pupils as they played both classical and modern music in an eftort to better their musical talents. The orchestra provided the music during intermission ofthe school plays and productions, also. As a reward for their eftorts, capable students were chosen to attend the District Orchestra meeting this year. Bradford Senior High owes many thanks to Mr. Duhart and his expert musicians for their partici- pation in school activities. 90 TEN TONES, TYPISTS EYE ARTISTIC GOAL B.H.S. has an instrumental organization other than the band and the orchestra. A group of boys, called the Ten Tones, has as advisers Mr. Charles Callahan and junior Jack Mongillo. To acquaint students with the proper method of typing business and personal letters, footnotes, and other particulars, the Artistic Typing Club came into being. Avidly scanning travel folders and maps, the members ofthe newly organized Travel Club planned imaginary trips abroad. These students discovered the best methods of travel and studied rates and expenses. Mrs. Smith and Mrs. Shea, advisers, pointed out the best resort areas for those who enioy winter sports, such as 4 skiing and skating, and areas for those who prefer the summer pastime of swimming. The students also planned trips to places of historic interest such as Rome. Though their planned trips may have been imaginary, each and every student secretly hoped that someday he could visit these fabulous sites.
