Presidenfs Message Once again it is my privilege io contribute to the College Year Book. Over the years I have enioyed very much the rather intimate contact with the seniors. My successor, undoubtedly will find the same satisfaction. Since, like yourselves, I am also graduating this year, this message will be my last. The fact, however, that I shall remain on the rolls of the College for a time as President-Emeritus makes certain the continuance of my keen interest irg your success after commencement. These are trying and difficult times the world over. Yet there is no reason to approach them with anything but high courage. The era ahead will, in my opinion, be a very interesting one with definite challenges to all. Since you are all well equipped to meet these chal- lenges you will have no fear. I know there are many among you who will contribute largely to the welfare of our country. As the years go by, especially as you become more securely established in society, I urge you to continue in close touch with the College. Those who come after you will need and appreciate your active support. While it might be said that the first stage in the new look for the'Bradford Durfee College of Technology has been com- pleted, one'thing is certain, there is yet much to be done if the College is to be fully recognized in the world of education. This may mean a certain amount ofusacrifice on your part which I am sure will be generously made. What particular need will be indicated, I will not attempt to prophesy. We will let those who come after us shoulder that responsibility. In closing, permit me to extend to you my best wishes for your continued success in the days to come. Leslie B. Coombs 7
