I wish to convey congratulations A cmd heartiest best wishes, on behalf of myself and the people of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, to members of the graduating class of the Bradford Durfee Technical Institute. It is a particular pleasure to do so through the pages of the 'I954 Alethea, your fine yearbook, on the occasion of the 50th Anniversary of the founding of your Institution. You seniors have won your graduation day through hard work and persistence. I believe that America still offers untold bright futures for young people who are willing to accept its challenges and understand the deep significance, both social and spiritual, of our e way of life. Continue to be conscientious. Carry the hard work of your educational iourney into the sober adult days that now lie ahead. Do accept the wonderful privileges of an American birthright, but don't overlook or shirk the important responsibilities that rest upon all of us, as American citizens. I have every confidence that you will succeed. CHRISTIAN A. HERTER
