Through The Looking Glass Bradford, Massachusetts June 5, 1956 Dear Sue, Settling back in my luxurious, reclining chair, I could hardly believe that I was really on the Boston and Maine going back to Bradford. The ten-minute trip from Boston barely gave me time to read again my invitation to our Tenth Alumnae Meeting. Coming up from the station in a plane, I caught a fleeting glimpse of the Haverhill Night Club Barbara Broderick has opened. By the way, she has 250 rooms that she rents weekly to Brad- ford dates only, and is thinking of expanding any day now. In a few minutes I was again in front of Academy Hall. As I started up the front step, vloanie Adams hopped out of her convertible and waved goodby to Cush and the kids. You won't believe it, but -Ioanie had her hair braided and coiled about her head. Lumbering down the stairs came a tremendous figure-I had to look twice before I realized it was Nancy Beam. At two hundreds pounds she is now a successful model for Mc.-Xdoo Vitamin Pills. Coming along with Beam was Midget Stewart, of all people. Did you know she has won fame in television? Every morning at tive she can be heard reading the funnies over the Kiddies Hour. In the Reception Room I heard Bunty Robinson questioning -Iulie Frederick about her thesis on South American Passionf' It seems that Bunty is Working for her Ph. D. in Psychology. Julie told us that she has been unanimously chosen Queen of the Stork Club by members of the press. Speaking of the Stork Club, did you know that Betsy Alexander is the star of their nightly show? Who would have suspected that Betsy had such hidden talents? About that time, Timmie Smith arrived bundled up in a bear rug from Montreal, where she's taken up residence in a one-room Hat. She spends her evenings bravely struggling over her knitting, while waiting for a certain young Med student to get his M.D. I saw Markie Kite standing over in the corner and hidden in a sealskin coat which evidently had come directly from Alaska. She was recently married, I hear, and the bride and attendants all carried violets. I also saw Sue Lesieur in the front hall. She told me that after her career as an airline hostess she'll be in seventh heaven married to Mr. X and enjoy- ing what she loves to do most-being domestic. I asked her about Bev Pierson. She told me Bev couldn't come, but last time she saw Bev she was dancing. She recently originated that new step, the Criss-Cross. I saw Gerry Geiger coming out of the kitcheng she had been teaching Miss Pearson how to mix a Mint Julep, to be served henceforth at Bradford on warm Sundays. By this time I was starved and headed for the kitchen myself. I ran into Nancy Porter checking up to see if her Home Fc course had done her any good. By the Way, she's still waiting for that ship to come in. Ginny Worthiiigtoii and Pris Mullin had their heads stuck in the ice-box trying to iind something to eat, as usual. Ginny is a famed explorer now
