And next, with her pink parasol, comes Ginny Worthington, who claims she passed Julie Frederick in the basement searching for her mail. Franny MacDonald appears on the scene with her dog tags and ,lane Jessup follows clutching her address book and forty-four bracelets. Midge Hobson had stopped for her roses on the way. And there's joan Law seen through the smoker window. It seems she's found an old acquaintance in the Fire Department. Next in line is Marke Kite with her chiclets, followed by Anzie Tal- mage clutching her champagne bottles. Kempie has just come down from third hanging on to Life. She says that Raines and Schlosser are still up there. Apparently they failed to hear the alarm. And here's another group coming out. Timmie Smith is loaded with Gf1Ihlll1l,S trinkets. And here we see Car Schuster sliding down the banister. She claims it saves time. And who's this walking out of the front door so stealthily? Why, it's Carolyn Smallwood holding on to her all-purpose lipstick, and Nancy Lang is still inside putting her hair up. Most everyone seems to be out, but nol - There's Dottie Keane with her blue and black evening dress and janet Simpson has her transfer applications in hand. And there's Susan Thatcher hanging on to her Stu-G gavel. She is followed by Mimi MacWilliams, Skippy Stronge, Polly Parrott, Nipper Stacy, Patsy Grier, and Billy WVilliamson, who are all dropping stitches as fast as they knit. What is Elena McGrath holding in her hand? Why, it's her pass- portl She just said that Beaven was delayed-even in an emergency one must think of one's figure. Sully seems to be trying to decide which is most important to save, her golf or hockey stick. Now the faculty is appearing on the scene. Therels Miss Adkins With her cigarette holder and lkliss Bell with her skis. And is that-yes, it seems to be Miss Atkinson with her catalogues. And here comes Miss Pearson clutching the sugar bowls .... FALSE ALARM! Students and faculty sleepily tile back into the building .... Now the school is dark. Miss Snow must have turned off the lights. All is well, and our Inquiring Reporter, smiling quietly to herself in the darkness of her room, closes her notebook and goes to bed.
