hl TZGRY Autumn leaves were laz1ly falhng from thetr lofty summer posmons rn the fall of September 1943 when M1ss Norma Marshfleld welcomed thxrteen t1m1d but enthuslastlc pupxls to f1rst grade It was here that we learned the fundamental pr1nc1ples of school hfe Wlth the passmg of tune we soon found our class of twenty tn second grade w1th M1ss Norma Marshfleld agam as teacher Larry Howell and Frank Huey two members of our present class jomed us Our class of etghteen next entered th1rd gradewlth Mrs Dorothy Coolbaugh as teacher Then came fourth grade w1th our class numbermg twenty three and our teacher Mrs Helen Carman Mrs Ruth Allard our teacher 1n both f1fth grade w1th a class of seventeen and s1xth grade w1th a class of stxteen prepared us for jumor hlgh Fmally a year that seemed hkeages passed and we found our class of slxteen 1n Mr Shannon s room The newness of DZSSIIIQ to and from classes soon wore off and we settled down to a de fxmte routme It was 1nev1table that we wouldnt outgrow our chlldlshness rxght away At that txme the fad was sllver teeth and so gum served two purposes Also many txmes a herd of stray goats tnterested us more than Soctal Studles Not only d1d we do math and socxal stud1es as stgnments for Mr Shannon but also sometlmes an honored few were chosen to wrtte themes ent1tled Why I l1ke Stlver Teeth or The Fun of See1ng Goats Run As the end of the year grew near we pald for our folly and fotmd that crxme does not pay Elghteen students then entered e1ghth grade and Mrs Carman was our homeroom teacher Here Gerald Calton and Helen Kemplnskl jomed us That year we performed a play entxtled Jerry s Woodshed Amateur Hour Upon complet1on of etghth grade we recelved our prehmmary certlflcates and twenty four of us journeyed 1nto Mr Eugene Bebout s nmth grade room Under h1s gu1dance we started our money maklng projects whxch 1ncluded two one act plays 12 O Clock Murder and Bobby Sox ' and a dance At th1s ttme Delores Culver Janet Cunningham Davnd Schm1dt and J ack O Ne1l jomed us Our presldmg offlcers were Jack O Ne1l Presldent Anna Mae Kowalcyk V1ce Pres1dent Larry Howell Secretary and Dorothy Ha1ght Treasurer ln our sophomore year we had Mr Walter Burcoff as adv1sor and our class off1cers were Pres1dent Frank Huey V1ce Pres1dent R1chard Aftuck Secretary Larry Howell and Treasurer Dorothy Halght That year our class of twenty one performed a play Come Out of Your Coma and sponsored a dance. In our jumor year M1ss Emlly Shulns was chosen our adv1sor and offtcers were elected Pres1dent Frank Huey V1ce Pres1dent Larry Howell Secretary Anna Mae Kowalcyk and Janet Cunn1ngham Treasurer Our money makxng projects conslsted of a play Larry s Bxg Date and magaz1ne sales Wlth the fleeung of t1me we became sen1ors Our class numbered eleven and here B111 Dehn jomed us Our deepest regret IS that Helen Kempmskl and Jack O Ne1l left us before graduauon Durmg th1s last year Mrs Sara Drdlmer became our adv1sor and our off1cers were Frank Huey Pres1dent Janet Cunn1ngham V1ce Pres1dent Anna MaeKowalcyk Secretary and Delores Culver Treasurer We sponsored a Harvest Supper and roller skatmg party sold personahzed statlonery and Chustmas cards and preselted a play Llght That Fuse as money maklng projects for expenses of our seuor tr1p to Washmgton D C We w1sh to thank all benefactors who have contrtbuted thelr guxdance tune understandmg and mterest to our bestposslble welfare and have made our long ago dream of graduauon a reahty u 1 .
