Dougie or Len is a great lover of the sports world. Whenever you hear the swishing of a net, the crack of a bat, the bang of a gun, the spinning of a fish reel or the clanging of traps, you can be sure Dougie is the cause of these sounds. He is the easy going type and does every- thing to the best of his ability. He is also an ardent member of the Spearmint Gum Chewing Association of B.A. His pet peeve is having nothing to do. Out- side of sports his real interest is a certain good looking girl from Bradford by the name of Roberta. Future plans include a hitch with the U. S. Army. LOUISE MAY FARNHAM Halloween Skit 23 Glee Club 3. Louise is a fun-loving student who is often seen but seldom heard. Because of this quiet manner, her friends say she can frequently cut up without getting any blame. Louise is a particularly talented dancer, and she is very often found a- round the various dance spots enjoying her favorite pastime. Her future interest lies in the Navy--a certain someone with whom she will eventually team up. GAIL FRENCH Dramatics 4. During Gail's four high school years, her exceedingly soft voice has driven Mr. Kimball to the climax of hysteria. Her quiet mannerisms have made her an eye catcher to all--not exluding a certain red-head in the Air Force. Gail is a constant companion of Janice Downing. We have no doubt that Gail has read al- most every horse book ever written, since she just loves horses. We are all waiting for the day when we can see Gail model- ling clothes for Christian Dior, since that is her sincere desire. GEORGE GIBBY Mixed Chorus l,2,3,43 Boy's Chorus l,2, 3,43 Band 2,33 Patrol 1,23 Newspaper 3. This boy returned from Columbian Prep. School, where he has been taking a military course, long enough to graduate with his old classmates. George espe- cially enjoys reading and photography. His pet peeve, undoubtedly, was biology class. The Navy is considering our service-minded classmate for a college education, where we are sure he will be a success. 9

Girls' State 35 All State Scholarship W'mner 35 All State 4. Claire is official accompanist for our Glee Club and a welcome guest at all parties, where she usually can be per- suaded to entertain. A willing worker for the senior class and the school, she has a cheerful and friendly personality which makes her a favorite among her classmates. Music school is in her future. SHIRLEY ELAINE COVEY Basketball 2,3,45 Glee Club 1,25 Dra- matics 3,45 FHA 4. The life of any party, Shirley has a nat- ural wit and is loads of fun. Being fun loving, naturally her favorite expression is Funny, Funny! Formerly a member of the B.A. Admiralettes, Shirley was a fine basketball player. An arm injury hampered her playing in her senior year. She loves to dance and is often fotmd at the dancing spots in the surrounding area. Shirley is an excellent cook and seam- stress, making her a fine risk as a mar- riage partner. Best luck to our finest lady athlete. NORMAN FARL COX Patrol 1,25 Student Council 2,4, Vice Pres. Student Council 45 Newspaper 3,45 Dramatics 45 Senior Play5 Hal1owe'en Skit 35 Yearbook Staff 45 Boys' State 3. Norman and his car together make one of the class's most popular pairs. How- 'ever, Nonnan's smile and good nature really account for most of this. Our future engineer has an ability for coming lip with the right results in lab expen- C! ments. Maybe he will invent a lunch line with its end at the front, and thus eliminate his pet peeve. In any case, we know that he will be a success. JANICE IOLA DOWNING Dramatics 4. Janice, a seemingly quiet girl with nat- urally wavy, reddish-blond hair, can be quite noisy when she 's with her closest friends, Gail French and Susie Griggs. It's quite possible that Jan is interested in a certain dark, curly haired fellow out of school. Jan is a whiz in shorthand, and her future plans include secretarial work, preferably with a handsome boss! We are sure she will be a success in the future no matter whom she works for. 8
