It has been our goal in preparing our yearbook. We hope you like the product of our efforts, and that it will serve to re- call memories for you in the future. gf 2 S , o f DAVID MORRIS KNAPP 1938-1956 I-'Vi 1 They shall not grow old y f ,' V, As wethatue left grow old I ., Q I ,,,'., Age shall. not weary them ' ' ' A- Nor the years oondenm. fn o ,, A AQ AIEZ At the going down of the sum 5 fs- biz' 1 ,V'o And in time morning, V . , A,.: Q ..., ' ' ,-q' IVAAA We willnemember them. Marie is a quiet senior girl, but her re- tiring nature has not prevented her from making everyone her friend. Because of her keen interest and ability in home- making, Marie ought to make someone an excellent wife. Someone??? Nat- urally, we assume it will be a certain last year's senior named Peter. We surely hope Peter can afford to keep her dressed in the style to which she is accustomed, - after all, she is our best dressed girl. Evey , a member of the Spearmint Gtun Chewers Association at B.A. and our DAR girl, is the life of every party. Whenever Evey comes on the scene, you can be sure her first words will be, Any- thing left to eat? Her warm smile and friendly personality are sure to make her a success with children around whom her interest centers after graduation from L.T.C. But Evey does have a pet-peeve: Phys. Ed. class! ELSIE RITA BEEDE Doll Newspaper 45 Dramatics 45 Senior Play 45 Yearbook Staff 45 Junior Prom Committee 35 Forensics 4. Elsie claims that her favorite expression is Oh, shut up, but don't take that as an indication of her character, since she is actually good-natured and quick- witted. She enjoys reading, baseball, riding fplanes and horsesj, children, and cherry pie. Her pet peeve is Mr. Kim- ball. We will always remember her as Ma Ha.ggett - her part in the Senior Play. 7 MQW-fa ROBERT LAWRENCE BENJAMIN Bobby Glee Club l,2,3,45 FFA l,2,3,45 Patrol 1, .2,3,4. Bob, most talented Senior boy, is found picking his guitar or rebuilding his '46 Ford. A favorite pastime of our little Ford man is collecting and distributing jokes among his many friends. Bob is a member of the Bradford Unit of the na- tional Guard and is often seen proudly displaying his uniform. His pet peeve is getting up in the moming and going to bed at night. Future plans include a term in the U.S. Air Force. Good luck and keep 'em flying, Bob. 7 CLAIRE HELEN BONNEAU Mixed Chorus 1-4, Pres. 45 Girls' Chants 1,2,3, Accomp. 1-45 Dramatics l-4, Pres. 45 FHA 1-45 Song Leader 1-35 State Song Leader2, Local Pres. 45 Student Council 3,4, Sec 'y 35 Class V.P. 45 Senior Play5 Yearbook Staff 3,45 Green Mt. SHIRLEY ELAINE COVEY Basketball 2,3,45 Glee Club 1,25 Dra- matics 3,45 FHA 4. The life of any party, Shirley has a nat- ural wit and is loads of fun. Being fun loving, naturally her favorite expression is Funny, Funny! Formerly a member of the B.A. Admiralettes, Shirley was a fine basketball player. An arm injury hampered her playing in her senior year. She loves to dance and is often fotmd at the dancing spots in the surrounding area. Shirley is an excellent cook and seam- stress, making her a fine risk as a mar- riage partner. Best luck to our finest lady athlete. NORMAN FARL COX Patrol 1,25 Student Council 2,4, Vice Pres. How- 'ever, Nonnan's smile and good nature really account for most of this. Our future engineer has an ability for coming lip with the right results in lab expen- C! ments. Maybe he will invent a lunch line with its end at the front, and thus eliminate his pet peeve. In any case, we know that he will be a success. JANICE IOLA DOWNING Dramatics 4. Janice, a seemingly quiet girl with nat- urally wavy, reddish-blond hair, can be quite noisy when she 's with her closest friends, Gail French and Susie Griggs. It's quite possible that Jan is interested in a certain dark, curly haired fellow out of school. Jan is a whiz in shorthand, and her future plans include secretarial work, preferably with a handsome boss! We are sure she will be a success in the future no matter whom she works for. 8 LEONA F N Alb Chun s ll 3, ,,3Bo Club 3 ' - g Yearb t .g - - , 3 I- ., lee 'x 01 o 1 - - - Coun- ll D 1 3,43 Pat dx f 3 I , 'B , 3' ' ' ' X cue.-' e- 'C-ff 3,57 een Skit 1,33 Dra ' , Boy's State Alternate 3. Dougie or Len is a great lover of the sports world. Whenever you hear the swishing of a net, the crack of a bat, the bang of a gun, the spinning of a fish reel or the clanging of traps, you can be sure Dougie is the cause of these sounds. He is the easy going type and does every- thing to the best of his ability. He is also an ardent member of the Spearmint Gum Chewing Association of B.A. His pet peeve is having nothing to do. Out- side of sports his real interest is a certain good looking girl from Bradford by the name of Roberta. Future plans include a hitch with the U. S. Army. LOUISE MAY FARNHAM Halloween Skit 23 Glee Club 3. Louise is a fun-loving student who is often seen but seldom heard. Because of this quiet manner, her friends say she can frequently cut up without getting any blame. Louise is a particularly talented dancer, and she is very often found a- round the various dance spots enjoying her favorite pastime. Her future interest lies in the Navy--a certain someone with whom she will eventually team up. GAIL FRENCH Dramatics 4. During Gail's four high school years, her exceedingly soft voice has driven Mr. Kimball to the climax of hysteria. Her quiet mannerisms have made her an eye catcher to all--not exluding a certain red-head in the Air Force. Gail is a constant companion of Janice Downing. We have no doubt that Gail has read al- most every horse book ever written, since she just loves horses. We are all waiting for the day when we can see Gail model- ling clothes for Christian Dior, since that is her sincere desire.
