The faculty sponsors of the extra- curricular activities here at GBA have worked many extra hours to make sure that their particular group is well advised and prepared. We would like to pay tribute to these people. Mr. Schlanger, the sponsor of the Student Government helped to organize all student activities in the school. His enthusiastic approach was an encouragement to all the students. The sponsor of the Senior Class, Mr. Horan, guided the sen- iors in the production of their Senior Play, and also proved to be an invaluable help in the planning of Senior Trip and the Senior Banquet. • Mr. Scholze, acting as sponsor of the Junior Class, advised the Prom Committee in its efforts to plan this year's prom. He also demonstrated his expertise in directing the GBA band. Sophomore Class sponsors, Mrs. Struth and Mrs. D'Andrea, also served as cheerleading sponsors again this year. They made certain that the cheerleaders were always at their best in rep- resenting GBA both at home and away games. Mrs. Baldwin, the sponsor of the Pep Club, encouraged stu- dent support of both the home and away games. She helped ar- range transportation and came up with many unusual fund rais- ing activities. Mr. Hruby, the sponsor of the GBA NEWS, helped to make the students more aware of school activities and happenings. Choral director, Mrs. Fantaski, serving as sponsor of the Choir and Chorus worked diligently to make “her kids some- thing special. She also co-sponsored the Majorettes and Color- guard with Mr. Scholze. Miss Reznik, the sponsor and advisor of the GBA FALCON- IAN yearbook, encouraged the staff to produce a high quality product. She always provided us with the inspiration and con- fidence we needed when deadlines were pressing. i Sponsors 57 s T U D E N The Student Council and Prom Committee are considered the leaders of our GBA Student Body. In their endeavours to improve the school and plan activi- ties, the GBA Student Council represents and symbolizes the friendliness and spirit of General Brad- dock. This year they've had many movies, fund raisers, and finally worked hard enough to get jackets. The Prom Committee is also composed of important leaders in the school. It is the job of this committee to plan the prom, the major event of the school year. Under the supervision of Mr. Scholze, the officers managed to present GBA with another terrific prom. ROW 1: J. At present, the team consists of all juniors and sophomores. Because of its inexperience, the team did not do too well this past season. He expects them to take their share of the victories that are due to them because of their hard work and dedication. Mr. Horvath, Head Coach Golf 89 Come on. Hound Dog Jones On Nov. 12, 1976 a football dance in honor of the team was held in the Scott Gym. Although the 1976 football team wasn't a championship team, the Pep Club and Student Council who sponsored the dance felt they deserved the recognition. The attendance at the dance was disappointing, but still the GBA spirit was there! 118 Football Dance “They haven't thrown me a pass all day.'1 TURKEY BOWL Turkeys “Turkeys” “ Turkeys On Nov. 4, 1976 the student body witnessed their first turkey bowl. The faculties of Scott High and that of the Junior High were pitted against each other in an ex- citing game. The students found out that the faculty could play football reasonably well. But, as the final seconds of the clock ticked off, the students of both schools hoped their team would win. When the buzzer sounded and the game ended in a tie, both teams vowed they would win next year! Faculty Football Game 119 Let your fingers do the talking. One Step Beyond was in con- cert on December 3, 1976 at Scott High Auditorium . There was much dancing and clapping of hands while the students enjoyed the sounds of their rock group. The entertainment consisted of the Choir, Chorus, Highlandaires, Bonnie Lassies, Scottsmen, and some special groups. The band also performed, playing a selection of seasonal tunes. Other at- tractions were singing and dancing toys and a spe- cial appearance from Santa Claus. Everybody sat back and enjoyed himself while listening to the fantastic entertainment. Although there were a number of spills, some bumps and bruises, there were no serious accidents. Getting up the hills was one thing, and then getting down was another. The evening proved to be a very enjoyable experience and everyone had a good time. the Student Council spon- sored an all night bowl- ing, skating, and pool party at Monroe Bowl. It was quite an unusual game with many SUPER JOCKS (at least they thought so) on the faculty team including Mr. Chappie, Mr. Carr, Mr. Hruby, Mr. Burton, Mr. Zawislan, Mr. Wilson, and Mr. Scholze. 126 Softball Game GIRLS’ SOFTBALL TEAM Kiss it good-bye. When a small group takes on a gigantic task such as planning, designing, and pub- lishing a yearbook, there are some people who are just never mentioned or thanked enough. Such is the case with our special friends on this page to whom we could never express our full appreciation but we wish just to say thanks to . . . Miss Reznik, our sponsor and most en- thusiastic supporter, has given so much of her time, energy, and dedication, it's almost unbelievable. Without her encouragement this book would never have existed. Our appreciation is also extended to Mr. Pinto, our company representative, for all his helpful suggestions and time-consuming meet- ings in getting this year's book organized. Thanks should also be extended to Mr. Reznik for all the hours he spent helping us out by typing and printing and doing all sorts of necessary jobs. Mr. Stio deserves our thanks too for all his help and encouragement. Of course we can't forget our principal, Mr. Burton, who was always there to help when we needed him. Or, Mrs. Guerrieri who helped with the yearbook finances. John Pawlowski should also be thanked for his help with some of the art work. We also thank the school board for allowing us to use the refreshment stand and for their monetary support; and of course Colao Studio which provided us with many pictures. We would be remiss if we did not thank Mrs. Natalie Rabenstein and her family for their generous contribution. John Reznik 158 In Gratitude A WORD TO THE SENIORS Well Seniors, four years liave come and gone since we started high school. We've made many friends, and have tread many different paths. Maybe tilings didn't always go our way, but we knew we could always count on our friends. In those four years, we've changed. We grew from junior high school kids to the young adults we now are. The four years have been more than just educa- tion--they've been fun, joking around, teasing, laughing together and at times, crying together. It seems that the friends we made in these four years are different from all others. They're, well, what made high school enjoyable. Many, tears were shed graduation night when we realized that maybe we would never see each other again. Through this edition of the GBA FALCONIAN we've tried to preserve some of the memories of our friends, tlte things we did, and the moments we sliared. If just one picture makes you stop and remember something, then we accomplished our job. Refleclions 159 AUTOGRAPHS 160 Memorable Words
