The Indians were initiated into Class A football. During the early stages of the game the Wai' Birds Did not seem to be able to function, but They soon snapped out of it, and began To pile up the score on the VVarri0rs. ln their iirst elash with the Alamo Heights Mules, the Eagles displayed a reversal Oi' form. The fighting Mules set the Eagles Back with an unpleasant 14-0 defeat. A eompleted pass, and :1 block punt N1-tted the Mules their margin of victory. Alamo lleights protested Captain Wallace Murray's Age eligibility, and the school records showed That Murray was ineligihleg therefore The Eagles were forced to forfeit these Victories over Hallandale, Laredo, and Alamo Heights. The .latter game was Thrown out ol' the league. The Eagles then tricked the Corpus Christi Buccaneers. The Eagles outplayed the Buccaneers for the first three quarters. Shrieks, growls and throaty Houehesl' issued forth from the club- . A house torture chamber? 'Twas only Coach Puckett, the big moment, administering punishment to his 'wayward pupils. He has an un- pleasant habit of doing that little thing. A deep monotone was heard from the end of the training quarters. if The group present rushed to see what was wrong but upon their .Qi arrival they were disappointed to find only Cholly Flinn, cotton- l headed quarterback, practicing signals in the deep recesses of a rain 5, barrel. Baseball season rolled around and what happened but the ex- Lf pected, Brackenridge had a baseball team. Gil Pyka was one of the iii main cogs in the diamond combination. What surprise when they lose their few dollars and cents! They think they know---and lose accordingly. There are many in San Antonio who think they know . They are the riders who never use street cars or busses. Because they can jump into their autos and drive to the office without paying fare---they believe that method cheapest. It is not. Street cars and busses render the most econom- ical transportation in the city. They carry an average of over 2,000,000 passengers a month, safely and economically.
