for we had iusf swifched fo fhe single session schedule. Those liffle freshies were ushered over fo fhe former Prospecf Heighfs High An- nex. The new session had come as an un- pleasanf surprise fo many of us, since now ii' would be rafher difficulf fo fake in an affer- noon show. There were fhreafs of fransfer and some radicals wenf so far as fo advocafe anofher sfrike. Neverfheless, since we had liffle choice in fhe maffer, we gradually fook fhe new session in our sfride. The reappearance of hof lunches in fhe lunchroom consoled us slighfly. Then, as if for furfher compensafion, Coach Mickey Fisher surprised fhe high schools in fhe league by winning five games in succession fo merif a Garden play-off wifh Tech. Doc Elsfein and his speedsfers followed suif by breaking five speed records af fhe Penn Relays and Randalls lsland. They fhen carried off fhe P.S.A.L. Track and Field Championship. To iniecf a liffle femininify info fhe school, fhe Red and Black ran anofher of ifs Beaufiful Girl confesfs. The sfaff was kepf exfremely busy wifh fhe many picfures of our girl friends fhaf we submiffed. l ' Mofher Nafure displaying all her ' oufside, we began our lasf summer from Boys High. SENIGRS spending a lazy summer, we once again .. fo Boys High. This fime, however, if was differenf fhan before, for we were now fhe big shofs of fhe school. We were seniors, anyway, lower seniors. We all looked forward impafienfly for fhe foofball season fo begin. Unforfunafely, our feam suffered five sfraighf defeafs before coming up wifh a vicfory. The facf fhaf we were able fo beaf Erasmus, our sfaunch enemy in one of fhe lasf games of The season, did somefhing fo help liff our spirifs. Sfill, we did look forward fo somefhing beffer, in fhis, our lasf year. The presidenf and vice-presidenf of fhe A.A.. Bob Rosenfhal and Hal Johnsongespecfively, were bofh members of our class. For fhe firsf fime in Ten fhe hisfory of fhe school fhere was an elecfion for sevenih ferm officers. We elecfed Al Tarran as presidenf and Joe Parlanfe as vice- presidenf. Wifh fhe coming of fhe spring semesfer, we finally became seniors wifh buffons and all. Affer a few weeks, mosf of us fhrew away our senior pins or gave fhem fo our kid brofhers because we saw fhaf many sophs were fofing fhem. We didn'f need buffons, however, fo show everyone fhaf we were seniors. No more sfanding on line for lunch proved fo fhe resf of fhe school fhaf we were running if. There was a fhrilling elecfion in fhe A.A. befween lasf ferm's fwo fop officers. This fime, fhey were bofh compefing for fhe same posi- fion, and we felf sorry because only one could be elecfed. The honor wenf fo Hal Johnson affer fhe ballofs were counfed. Ezra Kleiner and Frank Grillo, bofh members of our class, fook over fhe offices of vice-presidenf and secrefary. More fhan half of Arisfa was composed of members of our class, and when elecfions rolled around, we nafurally chose our own classmafes. Sfan' Millman and Joe Parlanfe were elecfed co-leaders, while Marfy Coleman became sec- refary. Our Baskefball Team had a fremendous year, and under fhe leadership of Howie Jones and Danny Wasserman, fhey played fheir way righf info fhe Garden. In addifion, our Track Team won every evenf fhey enfered. The fwo main school publicafions, flie Red and Black and Liferary Recorder, were headed by June '48 men. Larry Nirensfein and Max Buchfuehrer direcfed fhe acfivifies of fhe school paper, while Eugene Biernaski and Marfy Cole- man were fhe edifors of fhe school magazine. A shorf, buf excifing, campaign fook place fo see who would be fhe officers of our class. Ezra Kleiner and John Ruggiero were elecfed presidenf and vice-presidenf, respecfively. The ofher vicfors were: Don Abramson, Joe Par- lanfe, Larry Korn, Jay Goldsfein, and Richard Worrel. And so, affer four shorf years which were packed full wifh work, fun, and friendship, we deparf from Boys High. No maffer where we go from here, we will always fondly remember fhaf grand old school.
