JUDSON was the Grade Adviser ot our class until last term. At that time she was called away to a higher post. She is now serving as Dean ot Girls at Bayside High School. Mrs. Judson was graduated 'From Training School and taught in the elementary schools tor some time. Later, she advanced to the rank ot high school teacher. Those ot us lpractically all in the classl who have been helped by her to solve many ot the knotty problems concerning what subiects to take, what college to prepare tor, etc., were sorry to see her leave, but wished heartily that she might enjoy the same success and popu- larity in her new province that she had al- ready enioyed at Boys High School. To our Grade Advisers this issue is respectfully and gratefully dedicated. R. SHEERIN stepped in to till the breach caused by the departure ot Mrs. Judson, and he has performed very successfully the difficult and onerous tasks required of the Grade Ad- viser ot a graduating class. Mr. Sheerin, his full name is William Vincent Sheerin, was graduated from Fordham University in I923. He received his B.A. and later earned a Mas- ter's degree. ln I924 he came to Boys High as a substitute. Next year he received an appointment as a regular teacher. ln I930 he became a Grade Adviser tor the tirst time when he acted tor Mr. Swann, who had taken a leave. Against Hamilton the victory march was continued to the tune of 30-0 and then came sweet revenge when Erasmus Hall was routed 44-0. Thus, Boys High had its first victory over Erasmus since l925. On a snow-swept field in November, the Red and Black passed its last hurdle success- fully by downing New Utrecht to gain posses- sion of the borough crown. Hal McCullough led the city in scoring and was put in almost every all-scholastic eleven as was Ed Kolman, giant stalwart on the line. Bob Gottlieb, Sid Raphael, Tom Lineen, Ed Jersey, Don Graff, Steve Tuba, Arnie Cam- inetz, lrv Hyman, Vincent Riley, and Red Klein were prominent in the victory efforts. The Math Team continued in its victorious efforts by taking two more championships in the l. A. L. The baseball team won the divisional cham- pionship, and as the Recorder goes to press, the team is about to play Tilden for the Brooklyn title. Debating again came to the fore, the team tying for the championship. Burton Lewis, Er- nest Notowitz, Captain Harry Schwartz, and Raymond lskowitz were the mainstays.
