Double sessions are quite a contrast to the former system, but we are sure if our early educators of Boy- ertown High School were here today, they would be inclined to agree that everything is in hand. Education is the key to success. This education is offered in a varied program of studies in our high school. With these opportunities, you too, may unlock the door to success. This year because of the crowded condi- tions of the school, we were not able to have a club period during the school hours as in other years. All the club meetings were held after school hours. These various clubs exist because the students want to have them and are willing to give their time to make the program of their club a success. Most of the clubs are what are termed service clubs. These help to make the school a better place and also make many things possible to the students that could not have been possible if the students would not have taken interest in their school. The clubs are run entirely by the students with the help of a faculty adviser. Each club has its own president and officers. In the club meetings, the stu- dents make up their own program of events. Some of the clubs in order to raise money hold dances or cake sales. The clubs exist because the school wants to make the students, life in the school as pleasant as possible and the club program is doing that very thing. The students of B.A.H.S. as well as the coaches are anxiously awaiting the 1955 baseball season. The Bears of 1955 will have Laverne Duke Snyder back with them. Laverne did a fine job of pitching for the Bears in their 1954 season. He also played first base on the Bear's winning team. The Boyertown Bears ended a sensational season last year with thirteen wins and two lossesg thus the fighting Bears won the cham- pionship of the Perkiomen-Schuylkill Valley League. Fifty-eight Pitching was one of the Bears strong points. The fine pitching staff was composed of Jerry Grim and Laverne Snyder. Coach Fry also developed a fine pitching staff for next year's season. The pitching staff for 1955 will probably consist of Laverne Snyder, David Frain, and Thomas Graver. A feature of the 1954 season was the all around hitting and playing of Captain David Daisy Erb, Ronald Snail Gerhart, and James Jimmy Heydt. be ww 1 LX5 x T e IQDAKXB xtfitoxn Airea um kfandv Hgf6S t Q Hqua ss SXOIIG olf fh gstm eh r ft slid M QULJK e e N Xbelos ageJ ThewxQp ll to m s W1lson dwake X tow ll m N .fem X u C 3.
