The ordinary purpose of a yearbook is to serve as a peg on which to hang one's memories. This year climaxes the achievement of a dream: our jointure. The purpose is to furnish the best possible educational opportunities for high school age children residing in the school districts. V Could our early educators come back, they would scarcely believe the progress our school has made in seventy-'five years. If in the United States, we had the fullest apprecia- tion of the superiority of our opportunities, I am sure we should work harder to deserve them. What we take for granted would, in many countries be regarded as miraculous beyond dreams. If we match the greatness of our opportunities with the greatness of our efforts, then we may be assured that this school and our country may be soundly secure in its future. . .

MISS WINIFRED Y. MUYER The first B.J.H.S. Bear is dedicated to Miss Winifred Y. Moyer for her long and faithful service as a teacher in the Boyertown High School. Miss Moyer spent the early part of her life on a farm, and always enjoyed nature and outdoor life. She likes traveling by plane or by car. On a nice afternoon one can probably find her at a golf course, or wandering through the woods. So we, the students of B.J.H.S., show our appreciation by dedicating the 19S4 Bear to you, Miss Winifred Y. Moyer.
