| Student Council was organized at the end of the school year of 1953. It became active the following semester. There are two student rep- resentatives from each class; the sixth through the tenth grades and three representatives from the senior class. Once a week a meeting is held with Mr. Frank Osborne as sponsor. The officers are: President: Betty Cantrell; Vice-President: Eula Grey Kindley; Secretary: Patricia Yancey; and Treasurer: Betty Jane Allgood. The other members are: Lawrence Davis, Mary Ann Morgan, William Morefield, Barbara Jean Lambert, Gary Bevell, Eph Crews, Betty Yancey, Norman Carlton, and Marjorie Allgood. The projects undertaken for this year were discipline, school par- ties each month, and the publication of the Student Council Handbook. We became a member of the National S. C. A. in November of 1953. The co-operation between the school faculty and the Student Cou- ncil was excellent, and all open suggestions through the Student Council were considered towards improvement of our school. We strove to make our Student Council a voice of the student body and we feel that this first year of Boydton High School ' s Student Council has been a very successful one. Student Council
