ilOWAN PUBLIC LIBRARk SALISBURY H Q Gift of Mrs. Mary W. Garrison, longtime faculty advisor to The Echo staff HR BOOKS NC ROW.24 ECH Echo. ECHO 1964 Boyden High School Salisbury, North Carolina gpWAN PUBLIC LlBRAIOI H. Dedication Our friend. Miss Catherine Whitener She gives freely of her time to improve student-teacher re¬ lations. The 1964 Echo Staff proudly dedicates this yearbook to a teacher who holds the love, highest respect, and confidence of every student at Boyden High School. With a Masters Degree in English, she is one of the most intelligent and capable teachers here. Her devotion and interest in her work is shown by the extra time and effart that she gives to her students. She offers a bright, warm smile, understanding, and friendship to everyone. Her love for her stu¬ dents is equaled only by her students ' love for her. She works quietly, diligently, and efficiently as adviser to the Student Council. As a token of our admiration, we dedicate this, the 1964 Echo, to Miss Catherine V. Whitener. 2 Foreword The Echo Staff has tried, in preparing this annual, to make a gift to each student at Boy- den High School. Your Echo is a ticket to mem¬ ories. In future years it will enable you to travel back in time to your days at Boyden. Then completely oblivious to the world about you, you will relive the football games, the band marching. the parades, the clock ticking away the minutes, the jostling crowds as classes change, and all the little ups and downs that you experienced as a Boydenite. Your ticket to Boyden can be used as long as your heart cherishes the memories you made in her mellowed classrooms and her marble halls. Table of Contents Dedication . Foreword . Memories.
