eruor CAL65 ljvcfifory One rainy August 28, 4 years agc,1n 1950, U8 bright and promis- ing freshmen entered frightfully into these hallowed halls of B H S Our freshmen initiation was s memorable event for all of us. The boys wore women's dresses inside out and backward with a pettl coat over the outside As for footware, women s nylon stockings and high heeled shoes took care of that The girls were the boys that day, fer they decided to farm They wore mens work shirts 8 overalls inside out and backward, with heavy work shoes on their feet The boys wore women s hats 5 the girls wore straw hats Our return party was a square dance we decorated the gym in a hay loft style The boys wore plaid shirts and jeans and the girls dressed in circle skirts and peasant blouses Everyone had s good time To help us through this first year were two faithful advisors, Hrs Johnson and Mr Babington Class officers were, Pres Betty Ann Evaska Vice Pres Sandra Fansler, Secetary Bob Dotseth, Treasurer Clarence Stone Reporter Eunice neifner and Student Council Arlene Huley and Lowell Hakanson our class during the first year We ended our freshmen year with a picnic at Irvine Park in Chippewa Falls Returning as Sophomores on Sept 3, 1951, we totaled bl After our freshmen year Elaine Erickson, Eunice Helfner, Nyla Jones, Donald Stocklen, Ann and Roger Ludtke left us We really started the year out with a bang, for we initiated the freshmen on October l Although 'We really gave it to 'em' They must have enjoyed it, for they gave us a swell return party We selected Jerry Evenson for Pres, Rachael 0'Hera for Vice Pres Hary Lou Borchert for Secretary Clarence Stone for Treasurer, Betty Ev ska for Reporter and Ruby Rowe and Dick Boda for Student Council Joining us during this year were Clayton Yoder and Dick Harris We closed shop with our school picnic at Red Wing Mr Melrose and Mr Fellrath, our class advisors really Joined in the fun A3 we started Qur Ju ior year the f01l0W1ng fall, W6 really had a lot to look forward to Sandra Kovach, Wayne Toman, Teon Dettman, Roger Schlottman, Alvin Smith, and Dick Harris left us this year, however, Nyle Jones returned, so that made up for one empty SPBCS . s ' - ' O Dusan Blaho, Gerald Weinke, and Alvin Smith were welcomed into

Our class officers were: Pres. Rachael O'Mera3 Secretary Mary Lou Sorchertg Treasurer Arlene Huleyg Reporter Dale Kussrowg and Student Council representative Betty Evaska. Our class play, 'Hillbilly Weddin,' was really s big hit, for the cast upt themselves whole-heartedly into it. Hr. Ssymasak and Mr. Vanderheyden directed it for us. The other highlight of the year was the Junior-Senior Prom on May 8. Our King Gerald Weinke, chose Avis Heier as his Queen. The theme we chose or this memorable event was 'Moonlight and Roses ' The gym was beautiful and we had many gratifying compliments on our decorations The Melodiers provided music for the dance Our two class advisors, Mr Fellrath and Mr. Szymazak helped us through this full year The usual ending event, our class picnic, took us to Como Park in St Paul As we entered this final year, our eyes are focused on that great day of graduation During these four years we have welcomed new classmates and bade goodbye to some Our graduating class totals O Our class motto is The Past Forever Gone, the Future Still Our Own ' We chose navy blue and white for our class colors, and the white rose for our flower We won our homecoming game over Holcombe, October 23 Reigning as king was Lowell Hakanson, chosing for his queen, Nyle Jean Jones Preparations for our Senior class play are now under way We will present it on April 23rd, under the direction of Mr Schultz We are looking forward to the prom this spring As we draw to a close this well rounded year completing our high school days, we all look forward to our picnic at Exclsior Park in Minneapolis Serving us as faculty advisors this year are Mr Bowers and Mr Swanson With best wishes to the underclassmen and for the success and a X X 1-z Niue U 4-ae M . : e ' 1 v wonderful future to all of our classmates, we complete this history. .4 -x2LA A
