Kees! gg Il 2 72 Acnclfey, ptincyaf I stood at Aspen Grove from where the annual B. Y. U. hike begins the ascent up the long, winding trail to the top of Mount Timpanogos. The climbers are led by an experienced leader who sets the tempo-controls the speed and directs the short but necessary rest periods. Those who follow his directions usually reach the top. Generally some strong ones, impatient at the restraint, go their own way. They are petered out before the summit is reached. And I wondered if successful living is not. after all, a series of rhythmic habits. If we eat wholesome food at regular interval, take our much-needed sleep at definite times, and if our work and recreation are properly interspersed, do we not feel the glow and tingle of life that come with the sense of well-being. Would not our school life be happier and more successful if we set our time to a rhythm.c pattern of study periods. rest, and recreation? I am sure recreation is more enjoyable when taken in moderate doses, between periods of work. School is more satisfying when we feel the joy of success that comes from honest endeavor. And so we may make the music of life a sweet melody, full of harmony and rhythm, when the spiritual. the mental. and the physical is set at the right tempo that brings each to a joyous fruition.
