CARNIVAL The annual fall carnival was held in the Box Elder Gym on Nov.6. This yearly event was sponsored by the high school studentstn raise money to purchase new equipment for the school and to help support the basketball team. Two students were assigned to each concession and all of the booths were attractively decorated by the students in charge of it. Bingo, dart throw, basketball throw, baseball throw and penny toss were just a few of the many booths in operation. As an added attraction to this year's carnival, a carnival queen was elected from among four girls. There was one girl nominated from each class. Senior candidate was Eileen Hobbs, Junior candi- date was Laura Williamsong sophomore candidate was Bonnie Hobbs and the freshmen were represented by Clara Faechner. At twelve o'clock that evening Eileen Hobbs was elected the win- ner and was crowned by Bonnie Hobbs, runner-up. Philip Lee Gaudet was crown-bearer and Jo Anne Williamson was flower girl. The carnival was a great success and despite the hard work put into making it one, the students enjoyed it and planned to make it an annual event. JUNIOR PROM The most gala social event of the.year, the Junior Prom was held April 9th. he juniors worked hard on the decorations and prepara- tion for it and it proved to be worth every bit of the effort. The theme, 'Easter Parade', was carried out very effectively in decorations which featured painted silhouettes of couples on the walls, faced as if they were strolling toward the stage. The win- dows were hung with streamers of orchid and yellow held back by flowers. The backwall of the stage was covered with streamers also in yellow and orchid, and featured a treble cleff design with musi- cal notes and 'Easter Parade' written below it. The ceiling was decorated with streamers of orchid and yellow weaved back and forth across the gym to form a low ceiling effect. The grand march was at 11:30 and was led by Laura Williamson, junior class president and Bert Corcoran, senior class president. HIGH POINTS OF THE YEAR When the 'Bears' took third in the Hi-Line Tournament. When a radio announcer referred to the two Rosettes as 'Big Rosette and 'Little Rosette', during the broadcast of a basketball game. When Bert Corcoran and Bert Williamson were named on the All-Star team of the Hi-Line division. When the 'Bears' played the last few minutes of a game with the Chi ook Deeters with only four players. ll ll
