It started out when all students received a packet of information in the mail containing a master schedule of classes, an individual student informa- tion card and lists of days and dates on which to come to school. Arena scheduling began on September sth with all the Seniors registering first, followed by Juniors, Sophomores, and then Freshmen. Matthews Stadium, in mem- ory of the former athletic director. ' A leader of Bowsher's athletics for many years, Mr. Matthews displayed hard work, dedication and Rebel pride which enabled Bowsher athletics to become one of the best in the city. . The dedication ceremony took place on Friday, Sep- tember 14, 1979 during halftime at the Bowsher- Woodward football game. V 3

HOME ECONOM L Scheduling was not the only accomplishment of the day, for after check-out from the gym- nasium, students were able to purchase gym clothes and locks and if they were underclassmen, have their yearbook picture ta- ken. ,W Apogee staff members stationed in the hall completed the paperwork and separated the buying from the not buying as the underclassmen entered the photographer's room. Although a handful of students Felt that they were too exhausted after the class scheduling to take good pictures, the general opin- lon of the new procedure was that it was very satisfactory and worked in well with the rest of the registration. -5 eff
