Dr. lames Bobert Overman served as advisor for this beginning vo ume. lust six years later the first yearbook to bear the present name was pro- duced under the direction of Dr. Overman and Miss Caroline Nielsen. lt has been more than 25 years since that first book appeared, but only 25 volumes have been published, since there was no annual at all for a period of several years. When the first yearbook went to press, co-eds wore short skirts with long waist lines and bobbed hair was the style. The masculine students held their heads erect in high, stiff collars. Today, co-eds are proud of their long tresses and they have discarded the long waist lines of yesteryear. Too, the high heels worn to classes in former days are gone and Bowling Green co-eds wear loafers and bulky socks. Not only the women have changed their styles. T-shirts for men have re- placed the shirts with stiff collars for class and neat soft collars are worn on more formal occasions. Styles have changed and Bowling Green has also. lt has developed from a small normal school to a full-fledged university with an. extensive curriculum. The 25th KEY staff has kept in mind the first yearbook and has attempted through artwork to demonstrate the difference in the times between the publi- cation date of the first book and that of l946. In producing the 25th KEY we on the staff have met some difficulties in- volving photographic eguipment and engravings. We have worked long and hard to write copy, to mount pictures, and to sell ads, but it was enjoy- able and we feel that we will be amply repaid if you of the student body are pleased with the 25th KEY.
