The class gives near- ly 30 boys the chance to learn new ideas on farm-machinery construction and craftsmanship skills. Wagon frames, loading chutes, gates, wagons and beds, grader blades, cabinets, observation platforms, tool boxes, racks, holding chutes, and feed boxes are typical farm class projects. 21 Mrs. Motley's English III stu- dents are required to make note- books and to memorize certain poetry selections by famous authors. Mrs. Motley offered this quotation from A Spoon River Mother as one of her philoso- phies regarding poetry, Memo- rize some bit of verse of truth or beauty, It may serve a turn in your life. She also added, I hope every student forms the habit of' memorizing bits of poetry which may give him vision and hope.
