Students at B.G.H.S. were blessed with an added at- traction which only happens every four years, the presidential elections. Not only was it the year for a new president but also there was a vacated national Senate seat which had to be filled. Even though there were only a few students who were actually eligible to vote, many students really got involved in cam- paigning forthe candidate of their choice. Campaign buttons, bumper stickers, a decorated trophy case, and of course, Ms. Sloan's bulletin board, were a few ways in which students campaigned in their own special way. A mock election was held on Monday before election day in a way similar to a convention with each of the homerooms being represented by one person. A roll call was held and the Republican candidate won by a large majority. The one thing we all have to look forward to is getting to vote next time in a voting booth and knowing it will mean some- thing. ELECTICJN YEAR 1972
