This is what he has to say about being mayor, The position is not an easy one, it involves hours of hard work and conscientious effort. Law enforcement is a major problem. Many persons desire to have the law enforced in all cases except theirs. Many complaints about weak- nesses, defects, and unfair treatment are heard by the mayor daily. It is his responsibil- ity to give every complaint a hearing, take actions in all iustified complaints as soon as possible, to see that the law is enforced fairly, impartially and with sound judg- ment, to direct community actions and activities into the proper channels, and, to do all within his power to make Bowling Green a safer, better, and more pleasant city in which to live.
