F A X ' if 2 48 Tri-Hi-Y Club The Tri-Hi-Y Club is an organization for high school girls sponsored by the Y.M.C.A of Kentucky. Its purpose is to create. maintain, and extend throughout the home, school, and community, high standards of Christian character. Primarily a service organization, the club this year gave Thanksgiving and Christmas baskets to needy families, helped with the Cheerleaders' Clinic at Western State College, sang Christ- mas carols at some of the nursing homes, and presented a special chapel program. In district tournament play, the Purples beat Warren County on the one-hit pitching performance of Jerry Polston and then edged Franklin-Simpson in the finish on the slugging of Ray Hunt and Larry Jones. Regional play was highlighted by a win over Butler County and an outstanding pitching performance by 8th grader Tommy Gentry in a losing battle against Fort Knox, the eventual tournament winner.
