It marked the be innin of our hi h school education. S 8 S 8 We were initiated by the Sophomores in October. We didn't mind it too much: we knew we'd get our revenge the next year. That year many of our classmates -joined in extra-curricular activities. Sandra Bernarde, Lonna Onesti, Clair Sawyer, Nancy Lemke, Joan Buchholtz and Ronnie Schumacher were in Forensics and Sandra Bernarde and Ronnie Schumacher were in the one-act play. Sandy was also on the cheerleading squad. Our officers were: President ....... . . Clifford Kessen Vice President .... . . Meril Schultz Secretary ....... . . . Nancy Lemke Treasurer . . . . . Diane Zahn Reporter ..... . . . Sheila Miller Our class membership dwindled down with the loss of Sheldon Malone, Emil Pukall, Parnell Wilber, Harvey Matz, Diane Zahn, Sandra Bernarde, Danny Faber, Alice Slivicki, William Cook and Joan Buchholtz. On September 5, 1956, we returned to school as sophomores. We initiated the freshmeng they were good sports. Members participating in extra curricular activities were Nancy Lemke, Lonna Onesti and Marion Onesti in Forensics and Meril Schultz, Ronnie Schumacher and Nancy Lemke in the one act play. Ellsworth Long We gained a new classmate, Jim Ness at the start of the year, but at the end we had lost him along with Earl Ladwig, Reka Matz, Connie Beyer, John Pingel, Ellsworth Long, Dennis Dallman, Leo Besaw, Clair Sawyer, Shirley Bierman, Joe Shadduck and Sheila Miller. Margaret Martin was our only classmate on the cheerleading squad. Nancy Nordwig and Darwin Zeinert were on the Prom Court of Honor. Our Junior Year began on September 3, 1957. W- CLASS WILL The class of 1959 of Bowler High School, abused by the faculty: suffering with a most distressing ailment, namely examinations, and fearing the approach of the end of our days, do hereby bequeath all our High School Possessions to be dutifully distributed to the follow- ing named persons. We do hereby appoint and nominate our well-beloved principal, Mr. Hugo Fischer, executor of this, our last will and testament, and hereby authorize the said Hugo to com- pound, comprise, and settle any claims or demands which may be against or in favor of the said estate. We bequeath to our friends, enemies, heirs and otherwise, the following things: To our principal, Mr. Fischer we leave the hope that next year's seniors will be as good a class as we were this year. To Mr. Streim we leave the darkroom in fairly good condition so that he can teach the undergrads how to use it properly as we usually did. To Miss !ones we leave our old English books so that next year's seniors can learn to speak correctlyl To Mr. Kglgagk we leave our bookkeeping books hoping that the seniors next year won't copy as much as we didl To Mr. Weaver we leave our themes on Good Conduct in the Classroom in the hope that he will know better next year! To Mr. Amburgy we leave the hope that next year's senior boys will be as good at sports as our boys werel To Mr. Flor we leave nothing: we would like to take some of his patience along. To the Cooks we leave the suggestion that they try to get .rid of that Civil War silver- ware! To the Janitor we leave our thanks for the nice job and we hope he keeps it upl To the Juniors we leave the ability to break traditions asswe did. To the Sophomores we have nothing to leave except the advice that they start to grow up soonll To the Freshmen we leave the advice that they should keep up the good work and maybe by the time they are Seniors they will be almost as smart as we are.
