THE 1953 JUNIOR PROM Class History On September 5, 1950, 35 new students entered Bowler High School. We were initiated October 6, by the Sophomores. The biggest event of our first year was the Sophomore return party which we sponsored. Many Freshmen participated in extra-curricular ac- tivities. Our representatives on the Court of Honor were Tom Trinko and Nathalie Schmidt. Mr. Hartman was our advisor. The following were our officers for our Freshman year: President ............ Nathalie Schmidt September 2, 1952, We returned to Bowler High as Juniors. We had 32 members. During the year we lost two of our classmates. Mr. Fischer was our advisor. This was a busy year for us. The Junior Prom was held April 24, 1953. Our theme was Garden In The Rain. Music for the prom was furnished by the Templeaires. Lloyd Malueg was our King and Valarie Hermann our Queen. Tom Trinko and Judith Pehlke represented the Junior Class on the Court of Honor. The Juniors were champs in selling magazine sub- scriptions. We received our class rings in January of 1953. Valarie Hermann September 8, 1953, we were the High and Mighty Seniors. Our enrollment was 30. Dur- ing the year we lost one member. Our advisor was Mr. Hoffman. This was our biggest and most exciting year. Events were as follows: Our class pictures were taken Septem- ber 29 at Toburen Studios in A.ntigo. The Senior Boys' Banquet was held April 26 and the Senior Girls' Banquet May 18 at the Gold Coast in A.ntigo. Our class play was given May 14. The title was Keep Your Fingers Crossed. On May 15 we took our class trip to Wisconsin Dells. Senior representatives on the Court of Honor were Lloyd Malueg and Jacky Long. Senior officers were: President .... . . Patricia Maas We, the Seniors of 1954, Wish to thank our present and former teachers and principal, and each one with whom we came in contact with during our four years at Bowler High School. We sincerely appreciate their daily guidance and advice. 20 Class Prophecy During the year 1960, I, quite by chance, met the census taker of the Bowler and Shep- ley areas. He had collected a large amount of material and under one of the files label- ed Censored , I found the following intriguing information about the Seniors of 1954. GARY TIMM isn't getting rich, but he is having fun driving a Blatz beer truck. It's a refreshing job, he comments. VALERIE HERMANN is dividing her time between her new home and her teaching job. She still has plans for a banking job, however. BILL SCHULTZ is playing defensive tackle for the Green Bay Packers. While in the off season he manages an Oleomargarine factory. ROGER STRASSBURG heads a huge dye factory.. He got a good start while attending High School. TOM TRINKO is the slim new featherweight wrestling champion. He makes up for the lack of brain with a cold, calculating brain. GERALD GEISSEL is on the farm enjoying himself immensely. He's very happily mar- ried. GENE WOOD alias Hot Rod Gene, just won the Indianapolis 500. He always was a fast man. NATHALIE SCHMIDT is a famous Powers model. She always did have a lot of power. LESTER MARTEN is a Major in the U. S. Marines. He is known throughout the enter- tainment world as The Singing Major. He also directs the Marine Band. SHERMAN WILLIAMS is now Professor Williams. His new discovery is a Tela Hip- to Graph. The Tela Hipto Graph is a 3-D television set which permits the listener to communicate with the performer. DONALD LARSON just came back from Mars Where he was interviewing the Marsians. He has decided to return to Mars because of an interesting specimen. JACKY LONG and LLOYD MALUEG are now Mr. and Mrs. They operate the new Bowler Fish Hatchery. ALLEN GROSSKOPF is the owner of the Riding Academy at Shawano Lake. He also runs a successful roller rink. WALTER SCHWARTZKOPF has attained the rank of P. F. C. in the National Guard. He plans to make this his career. MARILYN DAVIDS is now General Manager of a combination Grocery Store and Gas Station in a nearby town north of Bowler. Zl JERRY JACOBS is the coach of the University basketball team. He has a perfect re- cord, no wins! JIM BOLDIG is happily married and enjoys his career playing with the Chicago Cubs. He is batting a wonderful 169. y JUDY PEHLKE has remained single and is Principal of a new S2000 school in Shepley. LORAYNE HARTLEBEN is employed bv Sentinel T. V. of Evanston. She is assistant to the President and someday hopes to own the business. HELEN BEILKE is now a Home Economics demonstrator on Station WBAY. She has taken the place of Helen Day. BILL KASSUBE is operating the Bowler Hotel. He inherited the business from his father-in-law. . FRED KASTEN is a dealer for Mercury Motors, of Town Hutchins. His former class- mates are his best customers. JOYCE LARSON has a half interest in Standard Oil Company. I wonder how she is making out? CHARLIE MAAHS is studying to become a male beautician. He recently purchased the Narlow Beauty Salon. MARJORIE MA.AHS is the star of the great Broadway hit, Keep Your Fingers Cross- ed. The play will soon be coming to Bowler. PATTI MAAS is the owner of a department store in Roosevelt. She has bargains on baseball suits for the Almon team. SANDRA MILLER is now Commercial instructor at Bowler High. She plays trombone with Cousin Fuzzy in her sparehours. GUY SHADDUCK has had a perfect season as pitcher for the 1960 championship Almon baseball team. 22 Class Will We, the Class of nineteen hundred fifty-four, do hereby make and declare this to be our last will and testament. During the last year we lost two members. They are Evelyn and Clarence Schultz. We received our class rings December 18. We were all well pleased with them. Our Prom was held April 30, 1954. Music was furnished by Cliff Hoene. The theme song was Tenderly. Allan Hull and Inez Boldig reigned as king and queen. Tender1y was the theme. Exotic birds, palm trees, and scenes from the South Sea Islands were used to decorate the gym. The 1953-54 Dramatic season saw Bowler High School take its second straight Drama- tic trophy. Bowler High School has taken both of its two Dramatic trophies in the last two years. The play presented this year was The Command Performance by Jack Stuart Knapp. The cast received the starred A at the Conference Contest at Bowler on November 13. One week later they traveled to Stevens Point for the District Contest where they were awarded a B for their production. They were coached by Miss Jones and Rev. Koch. We sang for the Christmas Program on December ZZ and gave our Spring concert on May 7. We participated in the Music Festivals at Rosholt and Manawa.
