hi NELCINE HUDDLESTON SHURBET - Nelcine has enough perseverance to combine marriage with her ambition to finish school. Her busy schedule is completed by her D.E. work. CHARLES SHURTLEFF - As president of the Travel Club, Charles has worked diligently. He is also staff photographer for the yearbook. He has a wonderful personality which endears him to everyone. J'OI-INNIE SHYTLES - Sweetness and kindness a r e the traits which attract others to Johnnie. She is very efficient in her job as manager for the girls' basketball team. CAROL ANN SMITH - A le ade r of her class through high school. This year she was treas- urer of both the senior class and Travel Club. Punchy is an outstanding forward of the girls' basketball team. J. D. ROACH - One of the more outstanding members of our ba sketball team and a real supporter ofour school. J. D. has the knack for getting along with almost everyone with whom he comes in contact. SHIRLEY ROGERS - Shirley's jovial personal- ity has made her many friends in Bowie. She is always ready to do her share of the duties for the senior class and Jackrabbit Staff. EDNA ROTH - A sweet, quietgirl with enumer- able friends. She doesn't say much but that smile's worth a million to anyone. VALDEVA ROTH - Anothe r cute, blue-eyed blonde who has a pleasant personality and likes to make friends. s TN BARBARA WHITE - B a r ba r a is another cute brownette. She has a pleasant personality and likes to make friends. We can tell by her laugh that she gets a big bang out of life. BILLY WHITECOTTON - Billy is one of the more studious members ofthe senior class. His main interest is in F.F.A. workin which he has succeeded in earning many honors. GLORIA WILSON - Gloria is another cute, blue- eyed blonde who made many friends in BHS dur- ing her short stay. Bowie's loss is Henrietta's gain. CARROLL WINN - Carroll is an all-round ath- lete who is outstanding in basketball. He is al- ways on hand to help with loa ding and tying paper and other jobs for the Travel Club. MARY TUCKER - Mary has the composure and thoughtfulness required ofan outstanding leader, and that is what she has been. Her hard work- ing, intelligent, and sincere traits have won her many friends inthe various schools that she has attended. HELEN WELCH - Helen is always found to be making a sincere effort to help others. She is a very sincere, thoughtful person. NELVA .TO WELLS - IO wa s elected Class favorite in '53 and vice-presidentof the National Hono r Society this year. She has managed an A average throughout her high school career. PEARL WHITAKER- Kindness, her trade-mark, makes her very pleasant to be around. We like Pearl because she is a good listener as well as a good talker.
