With only two starters back from last year's championship teaxn, th . . . . . e Rabbits went to the Regional before finally tasting defeat, The first game was played with Ranger during a rainstorm but the Ja c kr abbit 1 , s s oshed through to a Z6-13 victory. Bowie then traveled to Olney where they spanked the Cubs to the t - . une of 32 7. The Iackrabbits were the guests of Arlington in the next cont st d e , an were held to a 13-13 tie. Bowie was host to Decatur in the next game and gained revenge for lastyeaz-'s t. - . . . ie by a score of 47 l3. Holliday was the victim on the list as the fell b th ' y y e wayside bya score of 27-O. With victory on their minds, the 'R abbits ran over Jacksboro by a score of 34-0. The climax of the season was the Henrietta game with Bowi ' ' 0 e Winning 13- . A tripto Newcastle netted the Bowie boys a 33-O victory. The Wichita Falls Rowdies team came to Bowie only to return home with a 34-O pasting. The Championship game with Nocona was the most thrillin am f th ' g g e o e Season. An overflow homecoming crowd saw the Bowie tearn rack up a Z7-Z1 victory. The bi-district game with Burkburn tt l . e was p ayed in Coyote Stadium in Wichita Falls and resulted in an easy Bowie win 19-7. The final game of the season found the Iackrabbits traveling to Garland for the Regional Championship. A heavier Garland team was just too much for the lighter Iackrabbits, and Garland won 7-0. This ended the football season for Bowie with a Bi-district championship under its belt. This very s uc c e s s ful season was started by entering the High School Cotton Bowl Invitational Basketball Tournament in Dallas. Bowie won the i r first game with Bloomburg 56-42, but lost to the eventual champion,Crozier Tech, in the next game. Bowie won the next tournament, the Jaycee Tournament at Wichita Falls, by defeating Throckmorton, Jacksboro, Henrietta, and the state class AA finalist,Vernon. The following week end foundBowie entered in the Decatur Baptist Tournament. Bowie played only two games, beating Chico and losing to Birdville. After easy victories over the other members of the conference, Bowie won the playoffs with Jacksboro. The regional tournament was next. Bowie beat Burkburnett for the Bi-District Championship, 57-44, but lost the Regional championship to Birdville, 33-36. This ended avery successful season for a team with no starters back from last year's team. Everyone is looking forward to next yeaz-'s team.
