f'Arvil Davis, the only one out of the class who is a self-made millionaire, is a great financier who got his start in the big business world by selling chicken coops. jim Fox and Robert Cady have joined forces and are now brimming their way from place to place. In other words, they are tramps. They often sleep in haystacks, camp by the roadside, eat out of ancient tin cans, and though their clothes are in tatters, their shoes have no soles, and their faces are unshaven, they are happy. 'fThough Catherine Capers had many lovers, she chose a very poor one-we mean in worldly goods. She is a very neat housewife and writes the 'Hints for the Home' Column in the Bowie Blade. Vera Abbott, who thought nature had ordained that she should be a poet, has never written another poem after she turned her back on Bowie High. She met a young man who had fallen heir to a zoo-acre citrus farm in California. She is now living in her western home with its immense groves of orange, lemon, and grapefruit trees. Willie Gray went to Texas University, met a millionaire's daughter, wooed her, married her, and is now living in luxury. fVVho'd have thought it?j Jack Raines, who has grown stout and somewhat bald, is the author of the world- famous book, 'Pair o' Dice Lost.' Mary Sparra is the matron of an orphans' home. She believes in the training of the body as well as of the mind. At the next item I looked closer. Could I be mistaken? No, there it was in black and white: f'Our intellectual Delbert Thomas has strayed from the paths of learning and is now a dancing teacher in New York. Soon after his graduation, Ernest Kilcrease was seized with a severe attack of wanderlust. He went to Mexico, donned a sombrero, and married a beautiful senorita, who bakes the best frijoles in the Land of Strife and Disorder. After becoming the dictator of Mexico, Ernest declares that he will have peace or blow up the entire country. Lee VViley Tucker is a great economist, whose learned treatises we read occasionally. He and Ben Turley, doomed to be bachelors, live together. Ben, who is now one of Bowie's mast prominent citizens, being president of the Rotary Club, does the cooking, and Lee VViley furnishes all the energy for house-cleaning, which he does economically and scientifically. I.ucile VVhitley has been given a great honor. She is Superintendent of the Bowie Public Schools. However, the enormous responsibility of this office has caused her to become somewhat pale and delicate. Clovis VVatson, whom we all know to be very versatile, served his apprenticeship as a trafiic copy but having had motion picture experience in his Senior year, is now the most famous star in filmdom. He sends out daily 1,500 photographs of himself. I sighed heavily when I had finished reading. Some of my old classmates brought to mind bythe paper I had been reading, I had almost forgotten. Vivid incidents of my school life, in which these boys and girls always figured largely, outlined themselves clearly in my memory. Ten years have passed since we were Seniors in Bowie High School. I smiled sardonically and yet with conviction when I thought of an oft-repeated sentence which we, the Seniors of '27, once scoffed at and disbelieved. Your school days are your happiest.
