N f ACTIVITIES 56 - 57 l we began this year with 23 and one associate member. Two members have moved away. Our ad- visor is Nr. Traver, who is an honorary Chapter Farmer. 7 Our officers this year are President, Larry Webster: Vice-President, Russell Schoch: Treasurer, lDonald Eichmang Secretary, Donald Limkemanng Parliamentarian, Jim Jacobs: and Reporter, Clyde James. i We have participated in fat-stock and land-judging contests. In fat-stock we won first place with A team and second place with the B team. The A team consisted of Larry Webster, Donald Eichman, Donald Limkemann, Gary Nelson, and Larry Post. The B team consisted of Clyde James, Elaine Slater, Arlo Junk, Kenneth Jacobs, and George Akers. In land-judging we didn't do as well. Our team won fifth place. It consisted of Dick Myers, Donald Limkemann, Ronald Bennett, Larry Webster, and Clyde 'Jamcs. Our team came out on top at Pfiester 'Pick the Winner' Contest. We went to Lincoln, Ill., for the state contest but didn' t win. Our team was Larry Webster, Ronald Echternkamp, Ronald Bennett and Dick Myers. We have some more contests this spring which we hope we do as well in as the others. They are dairy, poultry, and grain judging. Most of the credit for these wins we owe to our advisor, Mr. Traver. 1 Our Jr. and Sr. agriculture class went to Chicago to the International Livestock Exposition. February 2nd, we went to Quincy to visit Moorman Manufactoring Company and Farm. We plan to attend open house of our local machinery dealers. The F.F.A. Banquet was held at the Bowen Lutheran Church on February 21. Charles Phelps of Radio W.K.A.I. was our speaker. He spoke on 'Let George Do It. The week of February 18 to 25 was National F.F.A. week. The 'Pest Control Contest' was won by Ronald Bennett's team. Clyde James' team treated the Chapter to a swimming party at the Quincy YMCA on March 13. 1 Pork-Chops of the future.
