Eighth Grade Prepare For The Future Ahead The Eighth Graders have been working very industriously toward their one goal-graduation and entering High School. Extra- curricular participation included band, chorus, basketball, cheer leading and selling concessions for Jr. High games. BACK ROW: Left to Right: Mrs. Erbe, Myron Haar, Tim Reuer, Vernon Grismer. Seventh Grade Go Metric The Seventh Graders really got into the Metric Scene this year. They were kept pretty busy with classes and homework which consisted of bringing in various labels from products that had to do with metric system. After this year they should be ready for the Eighth Grade. Freshmen: 1 Down 3 To Go The freshmen of 1979 began their year with a bang. They participated in the homecoming festivities with a float and a skit. After homecoming, the freshmen settled down and found out what being in high school really meant. During the course of the year, the freshmen bought class pins. The freshmen participated in boys and girls athletics, music, declam, drill team and other extras which helped to make their life as freshmen more exciting. Though their number is few, the freshmen school spirit showed that they are all proud to be part of BHS ! Freshmen Class Officers are: Paul Knecht, Student Council Representative; Carla Huber, Secretary-Treasurer; Scott Bonen, President. Sixth Graders Study “George” The sixth grade year was filled with many highlights. We studied 1 'George'', the human body skeleton, for health. In Social Studies we studied Canada, South America, and South Dakota. We made salt flour maps of South America. Making string art is the big highlight for Art in the sixth grade room. We also made yam snowmen and did weaving. We also enjoyed tumbling, hockey, and basketball. The twelve students all participate in band. Fifth Graders Continue To Grow The fifth graders have continued to grow this year both mentally and physically. To help broaden their understanding of the different subjects they took various field trips and invited speakers to their classroom. A new experience was watching Inside ! Out on educational television and joining the Captain's Reading Club. Their responsibilities have ranged from making their own class rules and following them to performing various classroom duties throughout the year. They have become very polite youngsters eager to start sixth grade !
