AGAIN ONE KING REIGNS Queen Pam Knecht King Curtis Eisenbeisz Bowdle High was again bustling with various activities as students were preparing for the annual Bobcat Days. Starting off the excitement of the event was the coro- nation of the Bobcat King and Queen. Thursday even- ing, September 26, 1968, ended the reign of Queen Florence Stern and Co-Kings Paul Bachman and Wayne Buechler, but it marked the beginning of Queen Pam Knecht's and King Curtis Eisenbeisz's reign. Blake Eisenbeisz, master of ceremonies, presented the evening's entertainment to the royalty. Skits were performed by the student body and the teachers. Following the coronation the students participated in a snake dance and enjoyed lunch after the bonfire. On Friday night the Bobcats bravely challenged the Roscoe Hornets, but the Bobcats went down in defeat. The students gathered in the gym after the game for a dance featuring Ray and the Ravens, thus ending memorable days in the history of the students. ROYALTY: Charleen Houghtaling, Marcella Feickert, Marsha Oster, Lynette Klapperich, Florence Stern, Pam Knecht, Curtis Eisenbeisz, Wayne Buechler, Steve Dewald, Dennis Stotz, Brad Schlepp, and Norbert Thomas. 30

HOMECOMING HIGHLIGHTS Casey's Coffins, presented by the Junior class, was chosen as the first place skit by the Royalty. Second place went to the Lettermen's Club for their skit, Kar Tire Wrench. The Pep Club received third place for their skit entitled Going My Way. The band and chorus both participated in the coronation program. James Doerr made a pleasant interruption in the evening's program to present to Mr. Youngman a victory scroll which was car- ried by the cross-country runners from Roscoe to Bowdle. We hope that some day the band, chorus, and the victory scroll will be spoken of not as an addition to the coronation program but as a tradition.
