IN MEMORIAM LANCE CORPORAL WAYNE R. BARTH We, the students of Bowdle High School, honor the memory of Marine Lance Corporal Wayne R. Barth who died in Viet Nam on April 24, 1967. Wayne received all twelve years of his educa- tion in the Bowdle school system and graduated in 1964. Some of his high school activities included football, Letter men’s Club, and the 12 Year Club. Following his graduation, he enlisted in the Marines. He was within weeks of com- pleting his tour of duty at the time of his death. 2

SCHOOL HAS NEW ADMINISTRATION This year, Bodle Public School had a complete change of administration. Mr. Eugene C. Hart was the superintendent. This is his third year as a superin- tendent. Mr. Hart took care of financial matters, acted as head of the grade school, and served as a go-between for the teachers and the school board. The new principal, Mr. Roger Youngman, was serving his first year as a principal, although he had taught in the system for five years previously. His main job was seeing that the Jr. and Sr. high school runs smoothly and efficiently. Many changes have taken place within the school under the new administration. The establishment of the floating period eased the tension on grades 7-12. Also a program was launched to study the possibility of doing away with report cards in the lower grades. MR. EUGENE C.
