The 1965 BOBCAT Presented by Yearbook Staff BOWDLE HIGH SCHOOL The 1965 Annual Staff of Bowdle High School, under the supervision of Miss Olga Wagner, has tried to capture the features and activities of the '6U-65 school year. Using the school mascot Barney as our BOWDLE, SOUTH DAKOTA theme, we have dedicated many hours of hard work to depict these events in picture and word. In this way we hope it will be possible for you in future years to recall these memo- ries as they happened. Board of Education Provides LEFT TO RIGHT: Mr. D. Steiger, Mr. C. Schumacher, Clerk W. Schaible, Superintendent R. Putnam, Mr. A. Bauer, Mr. B. Bach- man. The Board of Education is the backbone of our school. They have the responsibility of determining how much money is to be spent on supplies for the school and the payroll of the teachers. It is their responsibility to establish all policies for the operation of the school. Through their work the school has come to be what it is today. Student Council Represents Student Body SEATED: Jerry Mitzel, Jerome Buechler, David Karst, Carolee Huft. STANDING: Tom Casey, Paul Bachman, Arvis Lemke, Maurice Hoff- man, Darrel Knudson, Bonna Berg, Advisor Mr. Wooledge, Diana Hoven. The Student Council helps the school in many ways. It helps by organizing the Homecoming festivities. This is probably its most important function of the whole year because it is almost 100 per cent responsible for its success. In addition to this ithas sponsored school dances and money raising projects during the past year. 2
