In Memoriam When Death strikes down the innocent and young, for every fragile form from which he lets the panting spirit free, a hundred virtues rise, in shapes of mercy, charity, and love, to walk the world, and bless it. —Charles Dickens We, the Seniors of 1965, have used this page to pay tribute to our classmate Richard Joseph Dewald, son of Joseph B. Dewald, who died at the age of 16. Richard was a person who was liked by all, and it seems that these are the kind of people who the Lord calls Home early. He was a dependable worker and enjoyed working on his father's farm. He met his tragic death on July 20, 1961+, when the tractor he was driving overturned and pinned him beneath.
