Club hiAtrict Toui-natneHt In the first game of the District Tournament the Bowdle Bobcats defeated the Wakapala Sioux in a thriller U9 to ii7. Trailing throughout the game, the Bobcats built up a five point lead with less than three minutes to play. The Sioux didn't give up, however, and closed the gap to two points before time ran out. In the semi-finals the Bobcats almost pulled the biggest upset of the tournament as they were defeated by the champs, the Glenham Eagles by only six points. Marianne Zimmer is Vice President, Maryalice lazier is Secretary, Carolee Huft is Treasurer, and Bonna Berg and Vicki Schlepp are promoters. The Pep Club led by the cheerleaders, did a fine job in persuading students to attend the games. Throughout the year posters and signs were made and exhibited by the Pep Clut urging everyone to support the team. 25

The Grand March A big yellow moon, dark blue sky, silver stars, and satellites were the setting of the 1963 Junior-Senior Prom----- FLIGHT TO THE MOON. A delicious banquet was prepared by the Junior mother's and served by various members of the Sophomore Class. Entertainment was provided by the Junior Class and the main speaker was Floyd Miller. The Nomads played for the dance, after which a movie, Forty Pounds of Trouble was shown exclusively for the Juniors and Seniors at the local theater. A breakfast at Stern's Cafe concluded a most enjoyable evening for everyone.
