A Memorial SPECIAL DELIVERY FROM HEAVEN To: The Kennedy Family From: John Fitzgerald Kennedy Sorry I had to leave right away I look down and smile at ,rou every day Little Patrick asks to say Hi, I Love you, I'm happy, so please don’t cry. And Caroline, I'd like to say. How proud Daddy was of you that day. When you stood like a lady and watched me go by. And doing as Momm3r did, you tried not to cry. Little John, now you’re the big man. So take care of Mommy the best you can. You were just like a soldier—that salute was so brave Thanks for the flag that you placed on my grave. And Jackie, there was no time for goodbye. But I m sure you could read the Farewell in my eyes. Watch over the children and love them for me. I'll treasure your love through eternity. So please carry on as you did before ’Til all of us meet on Heaven's bright shore Remember I love you, remember I care. I’ll always be with you, though you don't see me there. Working diligently since the beginning of the year, the staff has covered the major events and as the memories of this year fade, we hope you can re- l live these exciting moments by glancing through these cherished pages. Upon the shoulders of the Board of Education rests the Herculean task of providing the best education available for the young people of our community. Each member has spent considerable time and effort to carry out this responsibility. They are to be congratulated for their fine effort. ClaM heMcatfon We, the Seniors of 196lj., dedicate this annual to you, Mr. John Giese. You have captured the respect of all the students of Bowdle High through your excellent teaching and your long overtime hours helping us with our Junior Class play and our Prom. Although we will never be able to express our appreciation to you for all the patience and thoughtfulness during the past three years, we want this annual to show you how much you've meant to us. 3 % tttewriam AWAY I cannot say, and I will not say That he is dead. He is just away. And left us dreaming how very fair It needs must be since he lingers there. Think of him faring on, as dear In the love of there as the love of here; Think of him still as the same, I say; He is not dead-he is just awayi And you-0 you, who the wildest yearn For the old-time step and the glad return- With a cheery smile, and a wave of the hand. He has wandered into an unknown land. James Whitcomb Riley We, The Seniors of 1961;., with tribute and reverence, honor Arlyle Job with this page. In the fall of 1962, Arlyle entered Bowdle High as a Senior. His subjects included Government, English IV, Power Mechanics, and Psychology. He participated in Chorus and was active in football in which he played guard. He met his tragic death on the evening of April 2U 1963. Although he is no longer with us, he will always be remembered as being kind, generous, and an ever-ready friend. Keeping the records of the school straight is just one of the many jobs she is confronted with during the school year. Making out the lunch tickets is another of her tasks. Though at times her jobs are very tedious, she is always cheerful and has a ready smile. PerJeiotel Five bus drivers drive five buses on the routes five days a week two times a day. In rain, snow, or shine the buses are there every morning to transport the students to school. Besides this, there are basketball games, music contests, special student trips, and other types of events for which they are required to drive. The school year is long, and the busdrivers have done a fine job keeping their spirits up and their tempers down during the long haul to and from school. eh fcutij Emil Bonen has been janitor of Bowdle School for 10 years. From early morn- ing until late at night, he is on the job, fixing this and cleaning that. Although his job requires many hours of work, he is never too busy to do that little extra. LEFT TO RIGHT: Joe Stappler, Larry Bauer, Hugo Blumhardt, Dwight Commet, and Gordon Stotz. Emil Bonen The cooks of Bowdle School have done an outstanding job of preparing meals this school year. Having meals ready for 200 students a day is no small job, and it is surprising how tasty the meals are each day. LEFT TO RIGHT: Mrs. Martin Buckenberger, Mrs. Emil Bonen, and Mrs. Gust Dumdie.
