w N-DU, QW wind JL had seemed so friendly and understanding during orientation, changed chamelion - like into whistle-blowing maniacs who caused all of us to descend upon the nearest male - whether he be Tuftsman, telephone repairman, or aged professor out for his morning constitutional - and fling their arms about his Csometimesj manly frame, and cry, je t' aime . This met with varied responses from the male population ranging from whole- hearted affection to outright fear. All too soon, however, it was six-thirty, and the heels and home-made hats had to be set aside for the more serious business of preparing for tomorrow's classes. Classes had just recently be- gun and though it had at first seemed that there were just not enough hours in the day, we were soon settled, we were even beginning to become accustomed to that ache-all-oyer feeling that came the day after modern dance. But our calm was not last- ing. Blue-White initiation loomed beyond the horizon. Foreground, Left to Right: S. Allen, J. Schultz, M. McTigue, J. Quigly, J. Gagnon, E. Perry, M. Brown, P. Seven score and seven days ago our fathers Cand mothersj brought forth upon this campus a new class - 1963 -- conceived as a natural following to the class of 1962 and dedicated to graduating and becoming good physical thera- pists and physical educators. Now we are engaged in a great time of reconing, testing whether this class can long endure the signs of the first year. Mr. Lincoln, our apologies. The first half year in the life of the freshman class at BBS has indeed seemed rigorous at times, but still the months have held many rich and happy memories. Fondly we recall orientation weekg get acquainted teasg Stu-G singing Good Night Freshmenng the midnight gab fests with the upperclassmeng the panel discussion on the honor systemg -- all the things that were done to 'make our introduction to college life a warm and helpful one. Absent Concerning that auspicious occasion we dare only mention our surprise and thrill lest some curious member of the Class of '64 read this history during orientation week next year. Let it suffice to say that our feelings were com- parable that night to those we experienced after the school banquet, which was held a short time later. Never will any of us forget the impact of thebsongs and speeches that r1ight, some humor- ous, all touching. Thanksgiving came and went, and no sooner had Home for the Holidays ceased to echo through RPS Hall, that we were back again and counting the weeks until Christmas recess. If Orientation Week was hectic, the week before vacation was feverish. Between studying for the cluster of exams, and finishing our research pa- pers, there was hardly time to breathe. The Freshman pajama party broke up the crammed full hours of studying before exams. We really let ourselves go in weird relay races and modeling contests. Finals came. We saw. We felt conquered. By '63 it will be just routine. Now we're a year old, and like every baby of the family, we can't wait to grow up. We are eagerly looking forward to Monomoy, where we can at last be called sophomores.
