1981 CANAL CURRENTS Bourne High School Bourne Massachusetts 1 :|T JR. . JKS| ; 2 ; i ' J OUR DEDICATION IN LOVING MEMORY TO MATTHEW MASCH We walk life’s paths together, both rocky and smooth. Together we experience the laughter and tears, the joys and upsets. We walk hand in hand going around life’s obstacles Until there is a wide gap which only one of us can jump. You, not I, make it and must go on even though you wish to turn around. I am constantly looking for a bridge to close our gap, but realize it’s just not there. Someday I will find that bridge, and I will catch up to you. Until then, however, I walk life’s road not alone but with love and cherished thoughts of you. 2 cl v ( season 9 from U XrmdS s TO ANDREA OAKLEY ALL I ASK OF YOU Deep the joy of being together in one heart, And for me that’s just where it is. All I ask of you is forever to remember me As loving you. As we make our way through all the joys And pain, can we sense our younger, Truer selves? All I ask of you is forever to remember me As loving you. Someone will be calling you to be there for Awhile. Can you hear their cry from Deep within? All I ask of you is forever to remember me As loving you. Laughter, joy, and presence, the only gifts You are. Have you time, I’d like to be with you. All I ask of you is forever to remember me As loving you. Persons come into the fibers of our lives, And then their shadow fades and disappears. But all I ask of you is forever to remember Me as loving you. 4 BOUFMiUASS ' ' •Vi f- ZIP CODE 02SJ2 BEGINNINGS. . 5 A REMEMBER Class Officers: President-Nancy Bejtlich Vice Pres. -Laurie Bradley Secretary-Lisa McMahon Treasurer-Beth Denmark Homecoming Representatives and their escorts: Kathy Lawrence and Michael Hal- lam Karyn Leach and Daniel Chapin Watching ourselves on video-tape and wondering if stardom might arise from it. HASKELL Sea Cadet Prayer Almighty Father, who guards against evil, whose influence is forever lasting, and whose example is devinely followed; Help me in my quest for everlasting peace and help to defend me against wickedness in both theory and practice. Guide me through the stages of evil and tyranny and help me to appreciate the goodness of which thou offers. Remind me of my purpose, of my goals and of my accomplishments in both Sea Cadet and daily life. Help me to remember my responsibilities to my country, to my family, to the Sea Cadet Corps, and to my shipmates. With the return of several experienced players from last year and a new coach, Mary Jane Currier, this year’s Girls’ Volleyball team showed quite an improvement over last year’s. Even though they hope for an ever better season next year, both the JV and the Varsity did very well. Varsity’s most memorable match was the victory over Seekonk. All of the players hope to see even more victories next sea- son. 123 FIELD HOCKEY VARSITY Top Row L-R Coach Lindberg, L Simmons, M Linhares, K Burns, B Denmark, S Leary, S Perry, J Cyr, N Mollica Bottom Row L-R B Taylor, L Hickey, K Leach, L Smith, L Spillane, H Joyce SENIORS L-R L Simmons, B Taylor, L Hickey, L Smith, K Leach, B Denmark, H Joyce Co-captains Karyn Leach, Linda Smith Season W-2 T-1 L-9 Sandwich 0-3 Barnstable 0-3 D-Y 0-1 Falmouth 0-2 Westport 0-1 Wareham 1-2 O.R. 1-2 Fairhaven 4-0 Westport 1-1 Wareham 0-1 O.R. 0-1 Fairhaven 1-0 124 The varsity field hockey team, under the direction of Coach Nancy Lind- berg, had an aggressive season with many close games.
