After a seemingly endless three years, the Class of ’72 began its year as the seniors of Bourne High School. Of course the class ex- pected complete respect from the underclass- men, and a few privileges from the administra- tion. However, we soon learned better! The first disappointment came when the senior lunch line disappeared. This blow was almost fatal to the class ego. With the help of the class advisor, Mr. Sturgis, this privilege was once again restored to us. At the Powder Puff football game, the class of ’72 once again showed their ability for suc- cess. The senior girls made remarkable foot- ball players while the boys showed their hidden talents as majorettes and cheerleaders. It was inevitable that the seniors should win. At the annual Homecoming Dance, held on ' •ksgiving night, Beth Walters was crowned “Homecoming Queen”. The other senior members of the court were Sue Wright and Karen Brown. An attempt to make money was the Spaghet- ti Dinner, which was held in January. This was a first at Bourne High and provided funds for graduation and the class party. i 28 f

Our junior year was successful under the guidance of officers Sue Wright, President; Karen Brown, Vice-President; Jean Christop- ulos, Secretary; Sandy Fougere, Treasurer; and Mary Lynn Sherlock, Prom Committee Chair- man. Once again we took part in the Home- coming Activities, with Karen Brown and Sue Wright as our representatives to the Home- coming Court. The main event of the year was, of course, the Junior Prom. We were helped along under the leadership of our class advisor, Mrs. Susan Doucette. The prom committee worked dili- gently preparing the decorations to correspond with the theme of the Prom — “Scarborough Fair”. The focal point of the room at the Holi- day Inn was a gazebo for the court, constructed by the boys of the prom committee. The Junior Prom of 1971 proved to be a memorable occasion for all who attended. Sue Wright was crowned queen of the evening. Karen Brown, Mary Beth McGreavy, Beth Walters, Mary Lynn Sherlock and Jean Christopulos, the members of the Prom Court danced to music provided by The Changing Times.
