SOCIAL STUDIES The Social Studies Department at Bourne High ot- ters a wide variety of subject matter designed to help students better understand the world in which they live. The Social Studies Department feels that the mere teaching of the subjects is not enough, but that experience and actual observation of government in action is essential, This belief is emphasized by tield trips to such places as the Massachusetts State House, Barnstable County Court House, and the United Na- tions Building.
