E MR CHERSACK THE MERRY MAESTRO UF MICHIGAN STATE A w1nn1ng personalxty smcere frlendshlp and an ever present sense of humor are but a few of the characterlstrcs of the dedlcatee of the 1957 ECHO Mr Walter Chersack Mr Chersack attended Mlchlgan State Umverslty where he recerved hlS B M degree ln 1950 he was awarded a masters degree ln Muslc Education from the Unlverslty of Mxchxgan In 1951 he came to Bound Brook as Supervlsor of MUSIC At Bound Brook Hlgh School Mr Chersack galned the support and frlendshlp of all who worked with htm The entlre student body took to hlm when he presented the B B H S Dance Band whose assembhes were eagerly awalted and when he devoted hls untlrmg effort to help make the annual Extravaganza outstandmg A pit band to play for the performers durmg the Extravaganza was lntroduced by him Page 50 Not forgotten are the new and umque formatlons whlch the marchmg band performed durmg the football season Durmg the tlme he has been at Bound Brook Mr Chersack has bullt a band that IS outstanding m central New Jersey and one that the school and town can be proud of Because of hls promlnent muslcal ab1l1ty he was se lected to conduct the 1956 Reglon II All State Band When not occupled w1th muslcal HCEIVIEICS Mr Chersack takes to the outdoor llfe enjoylng archery fishlng and camping He IS also a home craftsman Who can forget the elght A M drllls the running through the aud1tor1um at the end of an assembly to start the band muslc resoundmg through the halls first period and the laughter of thls teacher and frlend rn all sltuatlons Tm: Emron X 9 a ' .. - - ,. . ,- s - 1 5 - ' n 7' 9 ' ' 9 7 .. , . -- 1 , f 9 9 9 . , - 9
