On September thirteenth a much bewildered and excited group settled itself in the auditorium. At least those who could find the auditorium were there. After the upper classmen had been briefed, the new comers were started on their way. Mr. Nicholls assigned home rooms, and We eagerly set out for our new surroundings. Some girls found ,ihemselves in boys' home rooms. Of course, they were very unhappy about that! A few stu- dents discovered they were in the wrong classes. But all that was soon corrected, and we settled down to work. ln a few weeks when we had become acquainted with the Jroutine, classes, new teachers, and each other, we elected class officers. lohn Romano was elected president: Nick Perhach, vice-president, Margaret Hro- moho, secretary, and Iocly Simons, treasurer. Then the whole class became swamped in the sale of magazines. It seems every freshman class earns 5 money for the class treasury that way. With Miss Byers in charge We succeeded in topping our one thousand -' dollar quota. The ice cream party, the prize for getting , ,A 3' the most subscriptions, was won by 303. No casualties ily iff! were reported afterwards either. 1- 1 J f ' The class of 1948 has entered whole heartedly into t the various activities of the school. We have given two entertainments for the assembly. The first was a radio FRESHMAN CLASS OFFICERS play, His Honor the Mayor, presented by the freshmen members of the Dramatic Club: the other was a Christmas Left to Right: Nicholas Perhach, vice-president: Iody Sihons. - ' : l H ll , H f . .
