To the Sophomore girls: one To the Sophomore boys: a new secret society. To the Freshman girls: a room on the first floor to leave their rubbers. To the Freshman boys: roller skates to get to their classes on time. To any future chemistry students: gallons of Chanel No. 5. To Mrs. Holley: a new roller skating rink. To Mr. Haines: another Chubby Miranda to carry the pigskin , and more tall basketball ringers like jimmy Capano. To all the girls of B.B.H.S.: a new gym and swim- ming pool. PR UPHECY IT is THE YEAR 1965. We have just completed a tour of inspection of the plant of Backer, Beronio, and Blasse, manufacturers of buttons. We have taken the following items from the notes collected by the super-sleuths, june Backer and Genevieve Cullen, who are star reporters on Reimer's Record -circulation 202 Qrelatives includedj. Presiding at the receptionist's desk we saw the former Christine Castelli eagle-eyeing her office staff, Antoinette Romano at the switchboard, Paul Limbach, the super office counselor, and Don Andrews, supervising the de- livery of ice for the office water-cooler. After passing this formidable barrier, we were greeted by Red Wertheim, junior assistant to the second vice-president, who told us that Backer, Beronio, and Blasse, the ruling triumvirate, had gone to Ondiro's Paradise for Overworked Officials . Our guide for the trip was 'iLoitering Lloyd, called Hubie by his friends. In the research department we saw Professor Wellenkamp and Doctor Lange -perfecting a device to button rubbers on the pontoons of Gehring's Germol Gyroplane . When we passed the infirmary, we stopped to have Phyllis Chase, R.N., efficiently remove a cinder from the eye of that world-famous traveler and historian, Louis de la Rosa. There we also met Lillian Sydlowsky, R.N., su- perintendent of nurses. Anne Scotch, R.N., assistant nurse, informed us that we had arrived too late to see Mimi Covert, R.N. She had just left to become a Carber Cover Girl . At lunch time, we went to Throckmorton's Cafeteria, ideal for relaxation because of music supplied by the juke boxes of Huff and Diehl . Isabel Garretson, hostess and Nl assistant manager, graciously led us to our table. We narrowly escaped a tray load of dishes carried by jack Gerber. Nearby were the prominent foremen, Vlad Lasik, and Nick Limyanski, surrounded by a bevy of beautiful women. Startled by a sudden noise, we turned to see jim Housten dash in to get a seat next to a cute little blonde. Might this have been jean Valentine of high- school days? As we were eating our spaghetti a la Sperduto, the head waitress, Betty Gada, ,brought us a note from a striking blonde sitting at a corner table. It was an invitation to the opening of the Haelig-Hipolit Grill. As we were paying our check to the cashier, Marie Veglia, Joe Cri- vello, head of the plant ofhce, passed us, smoking a big, black cigar. As we returned for the rest of the tour, we saw through the window of the advertising building Kanky Brush deep in thought about the slogans to be used on Betty Oak's Button Girl advertisements. Paul johnson, chief of guards, admitted us. As we went from building to building, we were amazed by the enormous piles of buttons everywhere we turned. The star stackers and design checkers, Helen Maimone and julia Kuzniar, were quietly but carefully supervising dozens of counters of buttons. Marie Marotto and Marie Miele were showing novices how to' sew the buttons on cards. Flo De Melio was thoughtfully figuring the time studies of the hole punching machine that john Nadbielny had patented after many years of patient punching. Leaving the plant to its crew, we agreed that the Class of 1944 of B.B.H.S. had contributed its share to the manufacturing world of 1965. u ll lSENIORSI UI l NICHOLAS BARBER Bucky Tell it to the Mariner. L .FOO TBALL SEASON IN SPITE of adverse conditions brought on by the war, the Crusaders of Bound Brook High School completed a fairly successful football season. The draft and graduation depleted the squad, and Coach Haines was forced to build a team around four returning lettermen, Barch, Hipolit, Yerchik and Limyanski. Although the season was not a great success in the way of wins and losses, it was one that gave the fans many thrills. Outstanding was the North Plainfield game, when an inspired Crusader team outplayed and outfought the hitherto H23 unbeaten and untied Canucks for a 7-0 victory. We annexed wins over Regional Union, and North Plainfield, tied Bernardsville and Plain- field, and lost to Woodbridge, South River, Westheld, and Somerville. The following boys received varsity letters: john Hipolit, Vladimir Lasik, joseph Kursar, Angelo Frezza, joseph Barch, Frank Yerchik, Dominick Izzo, Gilbert Ridley, joseph Micha- lowski, jack Reimers, Joseph Crivello, Nicholas Limyanski, Charles Hill, Raymond Sperduto, George Lebedz, john Nadbielny, james Capano. JAMES CAPANO BASKE TBALL A HARD-FIGHTING, scrapping basketball team represented Bound Brook High on the court for the 1944 cage season. Coach Haines was forced to build a team with one returning letternian, senior jim Capano, and underclassmen. At the time this was written, the team had lost twelve straight games of a seventeen game schedule. Inexperience was the main cause of such a poor record. The gloom of the poor season was relieved by one bright element. jim Capano, varsity center, who is playing his second year of varsity i 43 ball, carried off top scoring honors for this sec- tion of New jersey. jim managed to score in double figures in every game but two, and had an average of 14.5 points per game at the end of the first twelve games. His best effort came in the Union game, when he tied the school scor- ing record with 28 points. Since approximately seven men with varsity experience are returning, prospects for next year are bright. Here's wishing the team of 1945 the best of luck!
