MA TH s Freshman algebra students sometimes have Mr. Whitney going around in circles . . . but we learned algebra and geometry as well as some other im- portant things from him. Yes, Mr. Nelson, we agree that you know all the angles . . . When we were sophomores we fthe girlst all had a crush on you . . , you took us through algebra, geometry, and college math . , . you coached us in basket- ball . . . assisted as track coach . . . and helped Mrs. M. with our F.T.A. group . . . You were our idea of a real teacher . . ,ails We'll remember Mrs. Honeycutt for her patience and devotion to the business of getting us ready for graduation . . . Now, students, shall we discuss our prob- lems? This greeting from Mr. Gibson was not meant to bring forth in our minds . . . our personal problems . . . dating . . . home- work . . . social behavior . . . parent . . . child . . . relationships . . . but it did . . . he could always get us back to the business at hand . . . whether it was physics . . . or trigonometry . . , especially this year our classes were interesting because he had been away for a stiff refresher course in advanced science , . . he was our boys' counselor and advisor to Honor Society . . . science We often wondered in that first year . . . Mr. Rowley's, that is . . . how the county could keep up with the expense of broken yardsticks . . . not that he beat us with them . . . he iust became enthusiastic in his science lectures . . . and wham! there would go another yardstick . . . he taught us biology and chemistry . . . coached J.V. foot- ball and was assistant baseball coach . . .
