Varsity set Setter Debbie Stumn Carrie Paynter Varsity Volleyball broke BHS winning records. Falling only one game short of going to District, they planned State, at least, for future years. Inspirational Senior Sue Smith and Sophomore Leala Morell were the only exceptions to the all-junior team. Captain Maggie Koughan led a 6- 5 victory season for the first year. Coach Yonni Velasco set high goals. JV gained experience with new Coach Mary Aiken. Although wins were few, skills improved and girls were strengthened for future compe- tition. Cheryl Cox and Jeff Horton Holiday gifts created. After many hours of practice and preparation under the direction of Dennis Behrens, Bernie Ackerman and Judd Aetzel, the Christmas concert on December 17 was a smashing success. The evening was concluded with the traditional rendition of the Hallelujah Chorus sung by Bothell High students and alumni. Atmosphere was added to the concert by scenery provided by Paul Dahlquist and crew. Brian Haight puts his spirit into Christmas.
